About the VRAM on the GPU required, its not true. I'm running a GTX 460 768MB VRAM and I can use the Mercury Playback with amazing boost prior to software rendering.

Hi. I have quadro FX 580 and it has 512mb memory will it possible to do with that BTW I'm a user of primer pro and also autodesk maya & max will you surgest me any gaming cards will work well on both programes pls

You do not have enough memory for that card to work. So, no it will not work.

I have a GTX 480 and a GTX 580. Both cards work really well for me.

Any newer Nvidia card with 1 GB memory or more will work real good with Premiere Pro CS5 or CS 5.5.

can you unlock the mercury in CS4?is it the same procedure like cs5?

No. This does not work with CS4. It is only for CS 5 or CS 5.5.

@The1000Journeys just type in the name of your gpu its all the same really except the number unless you have a Ti version then itll be "GeForce GTX 560 Ti"

Thanks a bunch for this video.  My new GTX 580 wasn't working after upgrading from a GTX 285, which did work. It lists it as a supported card for Cs5.5, but I guess they are not upgrading the text file for the older versions of the program.

Because, GTX550Ti has 768MB of 128bit and 384MB of 64bit memory arrangement, thus MPE detects only 768MB on it as is insufficient for MPE..

If you use GTX550Ti you must use GTX550Ti with above 1.5GB VMEM version.

Nice, but my CS5 crashes with a "stopped responding" error as soon as I start it. Maybe it's the new Nvidia drivers. They also cause my IE9 to crash everytime I close it but as soon as I select software rendering in IE9, the bug is gone. Same goes for Premiere CS5. I have a GTX480. As soon as I remove the name from the cuda_supported_cards.txt file Premiere works fine again but without GPU acceleration. Anyone else having this problem?

Hey it me again XD umm the site upgraded and know it comes with a GTX465. ( im gettin one for chrissy so the site im gettin it from changes). I see the GTX465 is just below GTX470. Which alrdy has gpu acc. But will tge 465 work on gpu acceleration :) please answer :D.

Sorry. No this will not work on ATI / AMD cards. It only worwks on Nvidia cards.

Yes this will absolutely work for the GT 240 card and yes you will see / notice a difference.

@randomworld09 It works on newer Nvidia cards with nearly a gig of ram on the card. I think the magic number is 786MB or more but I'm not solid on that. Once I did the hack, all my red line footage turned yellow. Rendering is way faster and the gpu enabled effects were enabled and ran smoothly on my GTS 250!
