I actually was a student of adam, hes a good guy who listens to good music. I had to stop cause the place he taught me closed down on sundays. If you live in illinois its worth giving him a try, im much better off for it. Thanks again Adam.
Dude...great lesson! I've heard this explained a million times, but you're description actually makes sense. Thanks for the lesson. Can't wait to try it out at home tonight after work.
great lesson. im a bass player that has a real soft spot for awesome lead solos. bought a les paul from a mate and this is the best lesson ive seen so far. really appreciate you posting the vid...... im probably stil going to be lame but at least iv got something to go by now. ta muchly
If you're sort of dozing off about halfway through, then you might as well stop watching - the second half is mostly review. Good idea though. I've always believed in doing what your instrument is good for, and this seems like a great example - these shifts would be a bitch if you were playing piano.
kay im sure if i get this but ummm kay say im playing basically two chords , d and b
do i have to change the key im in for playing over both chords with leads, or do i just stay in the template shapes im playing in from the first chord?.................if that makes any sense lol
Nice lesson, its simple and easy to understand, but obviously is very dynamic when applied to different patterns or melodies. Very helpful thanx for taking the time to post it, might even get the DVD.
You can still play the basic pentatonic shape and have chords move around. It will teach you where the d and e notes are withing the Am pentatonic shape.
Thanks for posting the lesson. It's good because most 'lead lessons' try to show you how to hammer out a speed solo. But playing lead is more than that ;)
