  • don't try to outplay the best

  • nice hand = fuck you .

  • why the fuck does everyone argue on poker videos, just enjoy the video ffs

  • idiots

  • I think Jason looked just a little too sheepish

  • This is why Ivey is the best player on Earth.

  • @MikeTitus111 Yes coz he's got all the player's money on earth

  • I swear, whenever the commentator says "I don't see how Ivey can call", you instantly know Ivey is going to call.

  • @iLecter I swear that only bullshit is coming out of your account in the comment section of youtube...Gabe caplan is the man he gets it right 99% percent of the time...The only reason why he didn't get it this time is that ivey is one of the sickest poker players alive...

  • @mhtsos12 Calm the fuck down you imbecile, it was a joke. It's funny because at times Gabe says it and Ivey does the opposite - that's all. Stop getting so offended, you whiny little tyke.

  • lol doesn't give his stack of 5's to the dealer, fking douche

  • hes got 2mil in front of him, callin another 185k is like chump change. you gotta know your opponent. 1 TIME!!!

  • the dumbest all-in ive ever seen jason make.

  • Don't try this at home

  • great play by jason .......great call by phil ivey and then gus hansen speaks lmao

  • welcome in the ivey world... lol

  • wow this is some really high-level poker :o

  • IVEY is the WHALE SHARK!!!!

  • Speaker Fail !!

  • HAHAHAHA he is really think to outplay phil ivey

  • Poor Laak, he would have had two pair.

  • Ivey is sick!!!

  • It's always good to read how play money/micro stake donkeys analyse hands that are played out on YouTube by pros, pointing out what the right play should of been and what mistakes were made.

  • @tranquility321 Pretty much the only way to beat the low-stakes games is to play the cards and the odds. Trying to get creative gets you nowhere at that level. You can bluff to a certain extent, but you have to know A3 off is going to call any bet on a board like jjqat with three or four of a suit.

  • @tranquility321

Its always good to read how random people say its good to read other comments written by "donkeys".

  • @Da1337DoOD Even better to read comments of people commenting that random people are saying its good to read other comments written by "donkeys" ........................too far?

  • @MrCrunchy29 But the best is to read comments that point out how good it is to read comments of people that are saying its good to read other comments written by "donkeys".............................................sup? :))

  • @tranquility321 Its always good to read how 10$ sng players analyse comments that are made by 'youtube microstake fish' As you can imagine they are quite an authority on the subject.

  • @StrangeDeimos That comment might make sense to the autistic.

  • @tranquility321 let me put it this way, you aint shit and you know it.

  • @StrangeDeimos Why so mad. Try taking some time out from bashing your keyboard in anger while you're in a state of distress, it might also help with the imbecilic retarded comment posting.

  • @tranquility321 just rephrasing it for you. U mad?

  • @tranquility321 StrangeDeimos totally owned you with that comment. Now lay down and take it like the bitch you are.

  • @Blexine Owned lololol? Are you asking me to lay down so you can fuck me? Or are you a 12 year old who types owned at everything and pops bitch at the end for effect? Either way your comment is banal and lacks originality, the only original bone in your body was the one your boyfriend had up your arse last night. Carry on regardless.

  • @tranquility321 Oooh, touche with the boyfriend comment, it was very imaginative. Perhaps you should retire from being a poker god and start writing comedy?

  • @Blexine Just because people make a laugh out of you they shouldn't start writing comedy, that would be silly. If that's your mindset you probably bump into a comedy writer every hour in your day to day life. Your life must be practically a sitcom.

  • @tranquility321 I am not suggesting for a moment that all people with a witty remark should write comedy, it is just that your particular remark was so cutting and astute that I really think you have talent. No, really.

  • @tranquility321 Are you a professionnal footballer when you talk about a match? idiot..

  • @djsinya Huh? What point are you trying to make exactly you sub-literate typing moronic idiot.

  • @tranquility321 try to speak as many languages as i do..

  • @tranquility321

Yeah but the way they play against each other WOULD lose money at micro stakes, alot of UNL grinders don't understand the history / levels of thinking involved in these games.

  • dont bluff a guy who thinks little of moneys

  • @unothisshit2010

Pretty much. Ivey thought he was beat but called anyway. That's a shame.

  • gotta love the people calling mercier an idiot, the guys THE best tournament player out there at the moment and has come from no where over the last few years and won more in tournaments than alot of top pro's, but yeah hes an idiot, fucking best tournament playing idiot, fucking loser with his 5 mil in winnings over 3 years

  • Ivey was getting 3:1, so he needs to win 25% of the time. Ivey had two outs if he was behind which gives him 8%. Mercier will be bluffing some of the time. Honestly it was more of a math call than anything else. Mercier should have realized that with his all in the pot ballooned to the point where Ivey was priced into calling him. Not that I think Iveys play is all the great, I mean it's probably breakeven or a little bit better than that at best (he knew you can tell from his frustration

  • How did Ivey call that? He must of had a read.

  • NOBODY outplays Phil Ivey. The best??

  • lol at ivey tilting himself into going with the pot odds

  • You have to semi bluff to win money on the long run you just can't wait an UPS player to ship you his stack.

So if you think having 32% equity on a semi bluff shove is terribad, you must never bluff so you must be a nit, therefore you're super exploitable (but since you play with microdonks you're still ev+) On midstakes you would be crushed so bad against thinking players who balance well their ranges and analyse any spots

  • LOL with 50k in Jason has almost enough equity to shove (if he has 0 FE) with his

30ish% equity so considering the fact that his FE is not 0( Ivey could bluff raise and then fold losing 78k) his shove is always ev+

But i guess you must be a micro stakes player with 0 process thinking whatsoever so yeah you probably think you're good having 3BB/100 on NL10 against guys calling your shove on a AKx board with K6

But against good players (so higher limits) you HAVE to semi bluff with overs +gutter

  • Standard shove by Mercier with the A outs, the gutshot + bd flush + FE since he can easily represents QQ+ here (preflop 3bet and cbet/3bet shove on this flop)

  • @alive2k7 Agree, it's an absolute standard play to push it with 107k extra holding ace high since that's a real monster...

  • @KevinDorner

Stupid Idiot : the guy has always like 8 outs (his A outs are 95% live) his gutshot always live, and a BD flush gives about 4% equity (which equals 1 out) so he has always about 30% equity he has already put 50k (pre and cbet in the pot) and has FE

Since you're a fckin nit who can't bet/shoves with A high, a BD flush and a gutshot, for sure you would have put him on QQ+, therefore if you were in Ivey's spot you would have folded your 99.

That's why it was an ev+ play: very strong

  • @alive2k7 It's probably beyond your intellectual capacity to make a reply without insulting ppl, right?

Go ahead and shove it all in with 30% or less equity. Players like you pay me off all the time with marginal draws like gut shots and overcards and that always makes me lough so hard lol. Please keep playing the way you do, that's of essential importance for my winrate.

  • @KevinDorner

Go ahead and shove it all in with 30% or less equity. Players like you pay me off all the time with marginal draws like gut shots and overcards and that always makes me lough so hard lol. Please keep playing the way you do, that's of essential importance for my winrate.

Learn the difference between shoving with a semi bluff and calling an all in with a draws (and not good enough odds obv)

The difference fits in 2 letters : FE :ok:

Here Fold equity makes Mercier play ev+

  • Welcome to the Ivey world, Jason.

  • whaada line he said -"welcome to the IVEY world jason..!"..jason would not forget this easily...

  • Christ...what a table.

  • These guys are GAMBLERS!

  • @rfwelsh these guys are the best player in the world

  • @Yekkt Don't drink the coolaid guy. The poker marketing machine FABRICATED pros. Some are good, some are great, some are lucky, some are gamblers. But alot of these pros are making more in sponsorship deals than poker.

  • at 3:19 right before ivey calls if u listen closely you can hear him say " suck my dick already, i don't give a fuck" truely disgusting i thought so much better of him before this

  • @appleyarrd not really funny at all

  • such a beautiful hand

my gf asked me why i play poker if its all a game of luck

then i showed her this hand with my thumbs covering the cards lol

  • Jason made the right play, just against the wrong guy.

  • @worldwidedownload Yeah, you can't bluff a guy who has no regard for money.

  • wow all these guys talking shit.. if I had Ivey's money I'd insta-call.

  • @123Wessel321 Yea, that's why you'll never have his money.

  • I could not have made that call, I would've certainly insta-folded because it would've been too likely that he had QQ+. Nice try Jason, but that's why Phil Ivey is one of the best.

  • difference between a rookie and pro !!!

  • @cfetzner

mercier has probably made more in the last month of his life then you have in the 40 years

  • @alwaysoutnumber4d ...o im sorry did i offend u?

  • Should say top 5% of his hands sorry

  • Merciers play is great imo, proper semi bluff with close to a 1 in 3 shot to win the hand vs any likely holding that ivey may have except for a set. Iveys call is actually not as hard as it looks: Ivey still has decent odds if Mercier only squeezes with the top 5% of this hand, which is wa tighter then he plays. The problem for Mercier is that if he doesn't put Ivey on a flopped set, he will also not put him on a hand as strong as 99, ass that would probable be top of Iveys rangein that spot

  • welcome to yhe ivey world jason wowwwwwwwwwww

  • Welcome to the Ivey world Jason

  • Ivey called only for stack to pot ratio, he know that Mercier could squeeze with a wide range with that dead money on the pot.

There was 300.000 in the pot and Ivey has to put 100.000, so he's 3to1 and he has to be good 1 time on 4 to make profit, thinking on the Mercier's squeeze range is a good play but he was scary about the call.

  • haha the atmosphere it's just like after a funeral, not for ivey i guess

  • I'm shocked that Jason "luckbox" Mercier didn't suck out on Ivey. Mercier sucks out on the whole world. This goes to prove that Ivey is a poker God and suckerproof.

  • @gambitazul Mercier made a great play, you douchebag. Ivey just made a hero call, and was right.

  • @kevinbailey1974 Suck Mercier's dick... Do you even watch any of Mercier's tournaments? Everytime he shoves all in, he's bluffing. When he raises, he does it for value w/ the best hand. Ivey's call was not a hero call... it's standard. You can't bluff a guy who has 14 million in tournament earnings and probably has another 25-30 million in cash games... especially when he's already invested that much money in the pot. Ivey isn't going anywhere when he's raised out of position.

  • @gambitazul You really don't know much about poker at all, if you think Ivey's call was "standard." For a "standard" play, Ivey sure thought about it for a long time. And the fact is, it WAS a hero call. I don't even think Ivey himself would say it wasn't. He called with bottom pair, for a ton of his chips. That's basically the definition of a hero call. You're a hero if it works out, an idiot if you're wrong.

  • @kevinbailey1974 i wouldnt say it was a hero call, thats a stretch...wasnt like he had bottom pair with a shitty kicker

  • @treezX I actually was confusing this hand with another, where Ivey made a more "heroic" call, with bottom pair and an ace kicker. This wasn't as much of a hero call, but there were three made sets that would have had him crushed, as well as any pair 10's through A's.

  • @kevinbailey1974 ok fair enough...i agree its still a tough call to make, i think im folding 99 most of the time in that spot because like you say, there are so many hands that have him crushed

  • Change this guys name to Poison Ivey

  • "welcome to the ivey world jason" ha ha 4:17

  • The chips are for tipping, it's like chopping a pot if it's folded all the way around no matter what you have. You do it regardless of condition because it's PRINCIPLE.

  • what a cheap guy...Jason Mercier lost 200 000 but he kept the 5$ chips (about 60 $) instead of tipping the dealer..

  • @SeenaSeenaSeena You lost 200,000 and youre going to tip the dealer? Youre an idiot.

  • @joecugo your an idiot....you always tip the dealer for their service. I play live poker 5-5 and 5-10 no limit and we never use our 1$ chips....those are for tiping. I wont be answering anymore because you seem like a broke person and i cant allow myself to talk to you anymore.

  • Poor mercier, proper good bluff. Truth is ivey's actually a psychic alien, he just doesn't make the wrong plays ever

  • underrated call by ivey

  • "welcome to the ivey world jason"

  • how embarrising , run it twice

  • Iveys good but to say he could read the kids soul isn't true. When he called he actually thought there was a good chance he was beat. Was a good play by both but only one wins. One thing jason didn't take into account when trying to bluff phil ivey is that ivey is worth more than the entire table combined, x5 probably, and is probably the only one properly rolled for the game.

  • Jason Mercier is good

  • @lemay002 Phil Ivey is God

  • Eli Elezra is a douchebag

  • Jason Mercier played the hand well

  • WELCOME TO THE IVEY'S WORLD JASON XD

  • Ivey can read ppl's soul

  • That's not a loose call Ivey was playing the player, because many people know mecier is aggressive and luvs to bluff,

2 ways you play that guy , Either stare every bet he toss your way till the river, or move all in on him if he re-raise you . The guy luvs to re-raise with marginal hands in hopes of bluffing you after the flop.

  • @madzion50 you sir, are an expert poker analyzer.

  • It's not the amount of money but the number of big blinds. Think of chips as units and you will actually crush these players because you will play fundamentally. If you cannot stomach the monetary value, you shouldn't be playing at these stakes at the first place.

  • Ivey has a huge stack!

  • Great move by Mercier. Great call by Ivey.

  • WOULD NOT HAVE MADE THIS CALL IF HE WASN'T RICH....

  • @MrJonnyboy36 would not be on this youtube vid if he wasn't rich.....

  • I love how when Mercier asks if he can keep the 5's Daniel answers for Phil lol

  • Can anyone hear what Ivey says right before calling at around 3:15?

  • Do I get to keep the fives? lol

  • I think ivey made the called because he was angry about the fact he raised it to 70k and couldnt just fold to merciers 28k. i dont think he believed he was ahead all the ppl saying great call are crazy. Ivey thought he was beat, and made a stubburn call; i am a huge PI fan but this was not one of his soul readng calls it was simply a situation where he thought he was beat and decided to call off anyways. The bluff shoulda worked, ivey knows that he is beat 9/10 times in that spot but still calld

  • after watching that stupid poker stars commerical, then watching this. this guy looks like an idiot.

  • Is it physically impossible for that donk Laak to STFU.

  • @rnson Laak is a donk?! lol serious?

  • It was a pretty loose call but you guys have to remember they know how each other play.

  • at 3:25 Phil Ivey found he got the favourite.

  • you people should stop praising Ivey just because he's the best in the world. yeah he's the best but this call is not a great play but it's a big mistake. start thinking for yourselves people, u got your own brain i guess...

  • @bogdan314MT One thing I'll say is that when Gambling in general, you're taking risks...Although poker has a guideline in which players should make decisions, if you were to follow those guidelines 100% of the time...you'd miss out on small random *leap of faith* chances WHICH could sometimes benefit you...but yea...of course Phil didn't make the best move...lol but bottom line... he benefited...

  • am I the only one here to see that Ivey actually made a pretty loose call and an obvious mistake? why everybody thinking of aces or kings? mercier actually played this as if he had precisely tens or jacks or probably even queens, it makes a lot more sense as he would slowplay aces or kings on the flop but he would legitimately raise tens or jacks just like he did, probably more inclined to jacks or queens considering the preflop action but let's not forget that the original raiser was gus hansen

  • "Alright i guess you got me there. Theres a f*cking bird yelling fuck .Is that right?" LOL at least that his my interpretation of what he said.

  • I don't see how Mercier can continue... "all in"

I don't see how Ivey can call... " I call"

  • @brainlesswonder that's why you aren't sitting in their seats

  • i think it was a great play by mercier ...... but even a better call on ivey's part ... great players !!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I don't think I could have made the call that Ivey made. I guess that's why I'm not a multi millionaire via poker yet...

  • this is such an amazing hand. very well played on both ends

  • I think Jason played the hand very well, representing Aces or Kings on every street. Like Gabe said, he would have had me convinced.Simply because Jason seemed nervous and uncomfortable at this table, I wouldnt expect him to make that play with anything less than AA or KK. It's just a bit unfair that Phil Ivey is that damn good.

  • @ScottishDoonie For some reason when I first watched this vid I thought Jason was wayy out of his league, trying to make a move like that against one of the best in the world. But now on a second viewing I have to say, too, that he played that very convincingly.... I just don't know how the hell Phil coulda called that lol (Maybe the next level up would see what Phil is seeing, like "Why would he play his Kings like that? Surely at this point he'd see that I could see he's playing Kings"

  • Mercier was out of his depth.

He's playing with the best on that table.

  • Everyone is a poker expert on youtube

  • @ggnub100

Yeah all these fags that play micro stakes online come into these comments and try to explain to the people that make a living from playing poker (and millions at that ) how to play poker.

  • no mercy on mercier from ivey !!

  • i think its funny, if i was playing low stakes and i had jasons hand and i decided to play it that way and someone made thatcall with iveys hand, id roll my eyes and say cant bluff an idiot, but ivey makes that call and its genius, dont getme wrong ivey is brilliant and jason is good too, but ya know what im sayin here

  • @plutobrain1

the answer to what u say its simple, its not the same to bluff for 2 bucks, than for 400000 bucks. in low stakes there are a lot of morons that bluff with crap because they dont care, so in that case the person that calls is not a genius its pretty normal to call those things when u know that is full of donks. now, when u are playing 400k, if sb does that, and you suspect that may be lieing, man, u certainly have skills, i would have folded without doubting, but no ivey.

  • ^jason mercier has a youtube account

  • Hansen comment is as stupid as his open toe sandals!!!!!

  • ivey never runs it twice coz he is a winning player. if you put your money in good more than 50% of the time, and ivey does better, then you are winning

  • Am I wrong if I think that if Ivey was up against Negreanu, Doyle, or Antonius he would have let them run it twice? And him saying alright if you got me you got me, and then setting the chips right in front of Mercier is a bit classless. If I was Mercier at 4:29, I would make Ivey get his own fucking chips.

  • @Fantasy23Legend nah phil always always runs it once, conversely negreanu always runs it twice. i think in that situation players who do both (like myself) would just run it the one time with ivey's hand. and it wasn't classless, he was saying what gabe dictated "i guess you've got me" i.e. he's calling with a marginal hand that he feels is good... jason obv knows he's in dire straights when ivey says 'call' no matter what :)

  • @Th3Z0ne You didnt answer my question. If it was Negreanu he was up against, Ivey would run it twice. There is no doubt in my mind.

  • @Fantasy23Legend i really don't think he would, in any case with 9s in that spot i think you'd be a fool to. negreanu says at some point during the season "you always run it once phil? no matter what, right? i always do twice" (and obviously if opinion's divided straight poker gets the decision). greenstein and ivey run it once by default

  • @Th3Z0ne he was still like 32% favorite to win so he wasn't in horrible shape. That was a good play considering the fold equity he has along with the times he gets called and has to suck out.

  • @TacoMaster07 Yea, i think the 5 tempted him too much. The thing is jason's a tournie specialist, making plays like this seldom work against a nosebleed cash game specialist. A cash game player will make mincemeat out of a tournament player in this format, and after all this is a tournament play. That said, I like the play given his image.

  • @TacoMaster07 (By that I mean the fact that he's playing slightly scared at this table, not his overall image as a player)

  • @TacoMaster07 Uhhh... 'scuse me sir, but when you're a 32%, you're NOT the fovorite... you're the dog. The favorite would be the guy with the 68% lol.

  • john697200 that's because they always come after him. Ivey devours EVERY1 eventually. Dwan only gets him to lay it down because he understands Iveys not gonna fold his read unless it's REALLY fucking expensive.

  • nice one ivey. fcuk off to those players who are trying to get lucky in poker

  • ivey suks

  • @temdop6570

Allright man, lets play soon my full tilt poker name is triia8543 =)

    And its been confirmed

I learned on the Full Tilt Poker official blog recently you can currently make a new account on the Full Tilt web page using the bonus code AMERICAS if ya don't currently have one with em.I think it's the best way if you're a new player to start playing.. Your 1st deposit will be DOUBLED in addition to a few other nice benefits!!!

  • Honestly, Phil Iveys call after Jason Mercier goes allin is no skills! he called thinking he was beat and jus could not fold. I watched every episode of High Stakes Poker that season and Jason was extremely tight. Phil Ivey as great as he is sometimes things just go his way and people give him chips.

  • @IK407

Ivey's no donkey. Jason's going to bet that flop with his entire range from preflop, including AK, AQ, and all random suited connecting cards and junk he made a move with. Ivey beats a HUGE amount of those hands, and he can't just call because there are literally over 20 cards in the deck that he doesn't want to see on the turn. He wants to end the hand now while he's ahead, and when you raise there, you do NOT fold to a shove. Your hand has NO value if you do. Ivey's right, as usual.

  • @EGarrett01 Im not saying Ivey is a donk at all, to me he is the best player in the world. But this call was a miserable i cant fold so here. Ivery though he was beat and he called, he is very lucky jason was bluffing. Trust me, ivey did not think he was ahead when he called.
