  • @scorpio9991

lol guy just go the rockbox site. they have the direct download there. and this video is kind of old. its a lot easier to put rockbox on your sansa.

  • Dude this is "GREAT" I had RockBox , but after 2 years of Brick I heard nothing but "Screech" sounds . Your Uninstall worked and my v1 fuze works Fab!!

  • it is work men.... everything is good but i can not play that game the doom that u played and iboy is not working...........

  • Any questions please pm domstang68, i dont check the vid so often anymore

  • on iboy can you play gba and gbc

  • @demonmonkeykiller12 only gameboy and gameboy color

    no advance.

  • does this work on the fuse plus?

  • @flamingninja93 they have a release for fuse plus now. check it

  • @JohnPortfolio2010 where can i get it?

  • @flamingninja93 its on rockboxs site. practically follow this tutorial but with your fuse.

  • the iboy worked for my sansa fuze v2! ty

  • Hheeeheh thank you brother it's amazing thank you thank you it's cool

  • Just mentioning, anyone who is following this video should go to rockbox dot org and just get the rockbox updater. the process is streamlined and easy. Just get the good stuff here, like doom and whatnot.

  • i did what you said but how i mean where is rockbox and how do i acess it

  • Thank you so much! This works brilliantly, I coulnt get it working before!

  • which are the advantages of this firmware?

  • Wow so simple! now my sansa volume actually works with the Fiio L6 Lod without having to unplug it

    Thanks!

  • is this basically the same way to do it on the sansa clip+

  • is this basicly the same way to do it on the sansa clip+

  • when i put iboy in the folder you told us to how do i get to it from the main menu i cannot find it anywhere

  • i know this is off topic where do you did you get the wallpaper?

  • very nice my friend

  • When i downloaded Iboy and put it inside the Sansa it comes up and says it doesnt have enough memory or something. Is something wrong?

  • everytime i try to do this it says "loading firmware file not found" what do i do?

  • i did it,,, it works perfectly.

  • can i go back to the orignal firmware after installin this...!!!

  • what does this actuall do

  • is this also for the sansa fuze +

  • it just started supporting v2.0 check the website

  • what do u need rockbox for anyway??

  • i tried but all it does is get stuck at refresh media

  • so there is no way fr me to get the rockbox firmwere on my sansa fuze v2

  • ok i did what u said step by step and i keep getting some message saying that i need to download the fuzea.bin file for legal reasons and i have it so whats the problem now.

  • how do i get the fuza.bin file

  • you know if you have a problem, you need to speak english and type good english. I currently use V01.01.26 because I couldn't update originally. Plus, there aren't really any feature changes. Now you can probably use any version of the firmware. Plus, the easy way is to go to the rockbox .org website and download the auto install. No more need for manual.

  • @Domstang68 i did this also and it give me a message saying that i need to download the fuzea.bin file for legal reasons. So what is the problem?

  • @bigboyrtj Google Sansa Fuze V2 Firmware. Click the third link. Click the one on the top for the first page, then scroll to 2.03.33 instructions. Click the first link for the sansa updater. Save the firmware to somewhere you can remember, like the desktop. When the rockbox asks for the firmware, just point it to that file, and you should be good. After it installs, you won't need the firmware ever again.

I would post a direct link but youtube never lets me.

  • @Domstang68 rockbox doenst support 2.XX firmware, just 1.XX

  • @SonySasuke Yes it does. Go to the Rockbox website, the Fuze V2 is supported, it just has its own rockbox firmware. The only fuze that doesn't support is the very new model that was just released.

  • @Domstang68 oops my mistake i meant it doesn't have much support for it, for example usb doesn't work unless you boot to ofw

  • @SonySasuke Oh well I remember that the first Sansa Fuze (V1) had different functions omitted. The fuze V2 has slightly different setups, so the drivers are different, but it will come soon. Plus the OFW is just fine. All rockbox adds is the ability to use the sansa as a media player remote. Play Pause Volume Skip Fast Forward, that sort of thing.

  • thanx

  • can you tell me what rockbox does?

like what extra features does it give you?

  • @skategio23 can play games on it

  • W/e man it says Refresh Database and it frozzeee.... help mee

  • neither doom or pacman worked for me.........

  • just wondering if i can have rock box on my fuze and the stander firmware on it as well becase i like the rock box for games and things but the stander firmware is better for just music or is this bad?

  • @darkmagelover it has both, in order to boot up the original firmware, just hold the left side of the disk down while booting up the device.

  • OMFG those games they dont lag on a mp3 player WOW!!!

  • Hi, its the moderator. I should ask sk8 to put my email in the descripton. I will hopefully be making a tutorial soon that is more automatic, and possibly diagnosing problems. Thanks.

    Domstang68

  • OH MY GOSH PLEASE HELP!!!!!! I got rockbox 3 days ago and it worked fine until just today when I plugged it in to charge and the whole thing just shut down. Won't turn on, won't charge, won't connect to pc. Just dead. I really need help respond fast pleez!!!!!!!

  • @Thjaca12 hey hold ur on button for 30 - 40 seconds then regularly turn it on shood work properly

  • @MuyLoco4 Only to a point, It is an unfinished version that runs on V2.

  • my pac man wont work

  • can u give me different links bcuz megaupload is blocked for me

  • @MuyLoco4 lol i got it yesterday i did something and it worked haha

  • @MuyLoco4 k mines V1

  • @MuyLoco4 i dont know how do i tell if its V1 or V2?

  • well you can do it on a v2. with the automatic installer but it doesnt support usb connection...

  • ive done everything.. when i put the .rockbox and fuzea.bin files into the sansa root and then i turned it off after the stuff loaded onto it and when i turned it back on nothing happened. and its on 100% charge... im confused haha

  • is there any way i can take my pics and put them on my xbox

  • UPDATE!!:: Sansa fuze V2 has a unstable firmware that you can use that is similar to V1. V2 has better hardware, so games like doom will run at a more consistent framerate.

  • @vortons wait for the battery to run out 95%, then plug in the usb cable into the fuze and your computer. should work after that. this is a known bug.

  • Note Sansa Fuze version 2 is different to version 1 and RockBox wont like version2 yet.

  • is there anyway to downgrade to the first version

  • TY now i will have what to do in class or in the way home after the box lesson :D

  • this is a amergency how do you reset version on the sansa fuze

and please anwser in a video

  • @drakebroes reset=insert new firmware to mp3 ;)

  • I put the stuff on my Fuze but I'm not getting the download thing from Firmware... does that mean I have v2? Could I downgrade to v1 or something? >:(

  • @Deadend545 u don't even know which version u run?DOWNGRADE TO V1????christ man, RTFM. seriously go to Fuze forums read some topics about rockbox...

  • thanks you bro finaly t-chen find a way to play game thnx broo a lot

  • YOU MADE MY DAY :)

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

  • Thank-you very much for this video - it was a great help and I'm now enjoying all the brilliant features of RockBox! This works fine on my version 1 Fuze as it should.

  • Rockbox has a different way of putting on videos and pics and playing them. V2 is still very unstable, things may not work always. I have a V1, stability is nice.

  • lol fogot to add a ? after pacman rom

  • Comment removed

  • hey i downloaded the v2 version from someone else can i still download the doom wad and have it work with the v2 version?

  • @ewham246 can you tell me where to get the V2, because I looked on Google and it was for about 3 hours, so I gave up.

  • That's total awesomeness. I write a lot of embedded software, but I've never had the time to crack open the Fuze. Now I see that it's totally opened up -- awesome!

  • What do you mean when you said To temporarily go back to the old version hold the left button when starting up player?

  • I cant play any movies on my fuze or music videos, I tried to use total video converter and Sansa Media Converter as well as the updater but it just not playing it. I am not sure im doing it right. Before I discovered yours on you tube I did successfully put Sansa Fuze V2 rock box firware on mine. But still I can't play movies or music videos, please help.

  • Rock box just came out march 4, 2010...so no more beta. (: Thanks for the tut.

  • thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanx man you are awesome

  • thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanx man you are awesome

  • Yeah this works fine! i was wondering if theirs anyway to get more games on your mp3?? others than doom (which i did not get)

  • I would like to say that first off, being the moderator, i have not been here for a while. I am happy to announce that V2 sansa will be getting a build of rockbox, the bootloader has had work done on it. Nothing yet though. To get to the orginal firmware, hold the left button while pressing the power switch. To sErBaSoNiK, it doesn't fuck up your mp3 player, you are just a fail and not doing it right. I used this when you could barely do anything, about a year ago, and I had no problems anywhere

  • you are if there is a beta soon let me know i will test it right away

  • This is cool. I might try this in the future when I get my sansa fuze. Hopefully it doesn't have firmware v2 pre installed.

  • how come it doesnt read gba roms

  • Comment removed

  • This works great!!! just it's hard to get used too!

Is their anyway to get to the normal menu without removing rock box?

  • i think the description says hold down the left button when starting up

  • @Petrified3

hold down the left/back button while you are booting up.

  • Comment removed

  • it fuckin fuks up ur mp3 !! stop using gay software that fucks up ur mp3!!

  • wazzuupppp steven???

  • tthx alot man:)

  • just use the automatic installer to install. you will need a copy of the original firmware available from the sandisk site. If it asks you for a mount point, use the root of the sansa drive (i.e. G:\ but look in your windows explorer when your sansa is connected in MSC mode to see what it is).

  • how do u uninstall rockbox?

  • @Domstang68 he said its safer to have it charged at 75 percent n more it could work fine at anything its just safer...

  • LISTEN! YOU GUYS AREN'T PAYING ATTENTION! YOU MUST HAVE A V1 FUZE, YOU CAN'T DOWNGRADE A V2! HOW HARD IS THAT TO UNDERSTAND??!!?? To remove rockbox, just remove .rockbox from fuze. Or, using rockbox utility, uninstall bootloader and rockbox.

  • @domstang68 I already have the installer and i installed everything but i can't just install the bootloader and it says ' Bootloader installation requires you to provide a firmware file of the original firmware (bin file). You nedd to download this file yourself due to legal reasons. Please refer to the manual and the SansaAMS wiki page on how to obtain this file.' and i also have put the 2 things as it says in the steps. Can you just explain me the steps clearly so it would be easier

  • how can i remove rockbox?

  • Just use the rockbox installer. It now needs a bootloader, which isnt mentioned yet. YOu dont need 75% anymore, I had mine at 45% and it worked fine. This is for Sansa Fuze, why people are commenting on other mp3 players, i dont know. If all fails, google rockbox and go to the website!!!

  • how did you got a bootloader

  • OK, I downloaded The fuza.bin file and The Rockbox.zip file.

Then I winrar the Rockbox.zip and after that I draged the Rockbox then,,, fuza.bin.

after that I disconected the Fuza and then I turn it off and on. BUT NOTHING HAPPEN? what is the problem?

  • i have the same problem i have sansa fuze and i tried a lot to download rockbox complete installation from the rockbox utility but is always says Bootloader installation requires you to provide a firmware file of the original firmware (bin file). You nedd to download this file yourself due to legal reasons. Please refer to the manual and the SansaAMS wiki page on how to obtain this file.

  • OMG I installed rockbox into my sansa e250 and i cant log on i see first screen rockbox and thats all after 1min it dissapear and i cant see anything,is there any chance to fix it? if someone know please help.

  • maybe you have fuze v1 and use fuzea.bin for fuze v2?

  • whoops! i meant the guy upper who has nothing happen

  • np win3dot1,by the way i already fixed my sansa =))))

  • No responsibility will be taken for bricks. TTS engine, you want to go to the rockbox website. Remember, this is still considered "unstable" on the website. If you are really having troubles, set your player to "MSC" and download the rockbox utility from the website. It automates everything except for the custom stuff here.

  • Comment removed

  • NO RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU BRICK lol, brick?

  • how do i configure TTS engine? seems that nothing will happen unless i do this step.

  • yes, you need save space. Not much, but some

  • yo i hav 1 Q!..will it delete some of ur songs?? i have 407 song on mine..do i need 2 save some space in order 4 this 2 work?

  • dude thanks a ton

  • how do i downgrade it its doesnt work to press left

  • can you tell me, if you know, how to downgrade a sansa fuze 2.02.28 so i can get rockbox?

  • @EminemFan844

You cannot downgrade to 1.xx since the hardware is different

  • someone knows if v2 has more RAM?

  • how do i downgrade my mp3 sansa fuze becouse i turned it on and i hold theleft button but it still doesnt work. help me.

  • how do i delete rockbox from sansa fuze?

  • read the discription....

  • i tried installing all it says is file not found.and now mp3 playlist format is change what can i do?

  • it wont work because the hardware is different.

  • Rockbox is open source fimrware that is created for a wide variety of players. You can download a piece of software from the website as well that will automatically do this installation, add the doom wads, and put themes on. This only works with version V01.xx.xx. If it starts with V02, you cant use this software because of issues with the different hardware located inside. Rockbox is open source, which means free :) Not much free space is needed. If your Fuze is a V2 and you change it to a v1,

  • whats rockbox for????? can i turn my fuze back into an mp3 player?

  • were can i change the backdrop?

  • i did the instructions and still mine is the same

  • is V01.02.26A version 2?

  • CorndogsRezMods, thanks for the quick response.

  • wat does rockbox do?

  • im good on everything except i cant get get the roms to work they dont show up

  • your stupid clicks get annoying

  • i have v2 fuze but i found a link for a v1, copied and pasted the download into my fuze directory, and when i unplugged it, my fuze said that it was a v1.

so then i tried to copy and and paste the extracted .rockbox files and the other fuzea.bin file in the main directory, but when i turn it on, "ROCKBOX" is displayed but in the top left corner it says-

    "Loading Firmware

    File Not Found"

What am i doing wrong? Please help :0)

  • @AfrOzhevsky24

    i highly doubt you have a v2.

and, if you do, and this worked, rockbox says that because it cant access anything inside the player cause all the internal stuff is different.

  • My fuze says SDMX14R-008GS-A57, I haven't opened it yet, does anybody know if this is a v1 or v2, any replay with this info would be really helpful.
