Seems you have totally mastered the control of this awesome piece of junk! I have one too, and despite some voices can sound a bit cheesy in raw, it's amazing how you can tweak it to get amazing results. The only con are the buttons: got 3 that won't work anymore :(
so I got my emx, I love it. frustrating at times but it is my first synth sequencer, I'm trying to hustle things so I can get one of these amazing yamaha's and a kaossilator pro next month.
of course, you can do everything. there's (bad) marketing that this is a dance/preset machine, it is not. it is a (programmable) drum machine, a sequencer and a synthesizer. so, imagine what you can do with it ;)
@meecek I was looking at the electribe emx, I am going to get one but man I gotta snatch one of these up because they are alot harder to find. you can find an emx everywhere and there are only four on ebay right now lol. this would be an awesome first machine
This just goes to show that it's not the instrument,..it's the "person" playing/programming the instrument.
Too many people want instant gratification,...They'll mess with a couple presets and then sell off the instrument without even knowing all it's functions before doing so.
2:30 ARGH why didnt you kick in there with a beat! It would have been orgasmic! This is seriously good stuff. I have an RM1X and would LOVE this save file! If you ever fancy giving it to me I would happily make a small donation to you.
It's no good... I've just sat and watched this video again and my plans for this evening have just changed. Out comes the RM1x again for another session :)
You've really got your head round this bit of kit.
I bought one a few weeks ago off ebay for £53 !! and I'm still trying to suss out the basics, but even at this stage, it's quite apparent what this baby is capable of.
Every time I watch your upload, I want to get RM1x! It is quite impressive that this "Groovebox" was released more than a decade ago. I think it is quite bargain today on used market, I think it is due to the preset sounds outdated. Many people don't go deep on their own machine, call it machine's fault.
Nice to hear the various sounds of this sick little peice of hardware. I think its by far the best bang for the buck, as far as groove boxes go. Pricing from 200-300 now, you cant go wrong.
i have to get one of these soon !!!
