@zombiebreach the turret isnt short at all its pretty perfect its because theres nothing in the little cage behind it, my and my friend saw 40 abrams on a train a few days ago, I was surprised to see the back of the turret isnt actually there on some of the tanks just racks...on some of them its like a container and on others its just fully extended I dunno whats up with that..we have a video of it if u want to see that
Here's the Info my friend Winston Gave me about the Tank:
My big tank was made by a company called "21st Century Toys".
While they are out of business now, you can still buy their products online as old stock. The cool part of that company is the design firm is in St Louis.
@hellcatdave1 I'm sorry I have not tried the super small 1:72 scale VStank series yet. I would think though you may want to go for a larger scale tank as the small ones wouldn't be a s good for outdoor use. probably only good on smooth surfaces.
@DiehardRCaddicts Actually, if you watch one of Vstanks vids on their Tiger tank 1:72 scale, it pulls off some pretty amazing feats when going over terrain.
Problem with the, lets say, 1:6th scale tanks is they cost a TON.
Better to have a model tank with a real mini engine and in full metal and it can shoot 2mm BB's. Now that would be something I remember I had a T-27 RC tank like that. You even had to fill diesel on it
I had this same Tank from Walmart for a couple days, before I returned it. I can't remember why I did that, but I do remember strapping my kid and his baby walker to the top of it and driving him around.
I had one of those. It was cool but made out of the weakest most brittle plastic in the world. After about 3 runs it ended up breaking the bogey wheels off and going on a small bluff in my back yard and used for bb gun target practice for a few years..
ok so i see a bunch of guys having a full war with the rc tanks plains boats and helicopter while all there wifes sit there looking pissed about the ppl they are with
These are 21st century toys tanks. Far as I know only avail at wal-mart around Xmas. Usualy retail for around $140 but can get cleared as low as $60. I bought 4 of them years ago and still have all of them. They are toy grade and break easily with no repair parts avail. Trust me the novelty wears off pretty quick as they are really slow like real tanks. But they do good in the snow and look cool with my 600size R/C AH-64D Apache in formation overhead.
Also the same company also made similar scale R/C Humvee's in desert and nato cammo. I grabed a couple of those at the same time and there cool to but very big and heavy. There like 1/9 scale of the real things and about the same size of a 1/5 nitro hobby grade short course truck. But again toy grade so once they break your down or harvesting parts from donor car.
@ccyriaque The one issue with these tanks and humvee's are the crap electronics! I have a few tanks that I can drive over 100yards away from me, and another where the radio is so crap that I can't go more than 10 feet. So they can be hit or miss. I thought about putting in R/C grade electronics but its not wort the cost to me on these.
I remember I had an RC Abrams that was my favorite toy as a kid. You could controll the machine gunner on top of the turret and the .50cal would light up when you fired it. Turret could rotate 360 degrees, real working treads that moved on any terrain including snow, firing cannon with mussel flash, even four missiles mounted on the back of the turret that fired off the projectiles! Damn I miss that tank.
i got a rc tank (i think that is made from the same brand as that) like 5 years ago. it was a WW2 version. i was like 90 pounds at that time n it could pull me! it could like climb everything too!
You can get those "small" gel cell batteries at marine stores if you have a west marine or a boat store of any kind nearby. I think the 12v batteries are about $80 though...but indestructable (literally can fire a bullet through one) and for the capacity, they don't weigh much.
@startazz Thanks Ian! yeah, our friend Winston new the Tank was coming out and he said he had to search several stores to find it. Fo $80 or about 40 pounds it was a great deal!
@mpetty0226 Yo Yo, Thanks MikeO! haa haa, yeah I remember those days on Ft Hood. Do you have any pictures of the Apache Helis for Ft. Hood? Mann can't believe its been almost 20 years since I was there. What were you in mike, 1st Cav?
@DiehardRCaddicts I served in Fort Hood, Texas, Alpha Co. 1/12 Cav 1st CD. I loved being a tanker, making it to gunner was a blast! I love the tank, but I'm having a hell of a time trying to find one, what is the manufacturer, thanks

@DiehardRCaddicts Any opinions of the VStank 1:72 series?
They look pretty sweet, and if you can reply before February 8th I would respect that.
I only have experience with RC helicopters, so I really want an opinion.
Thanks!
