Love that bird. Nothing sounds cooler than Samaritan flying over my house on it's way Kendallville....and you usually get to hear it again about 30 minutes later!
@jdsnowboy That 20 minute flight might've saved your life. 20 minute "flight" at 180 mph = 60 miles. That can easily be an hour-and-a-half (or more) by a ground ambulance - flights are "straight lines" to the destination where roads rarely are.
You also have to consider that when critical patients are flown (faster access to definitive care), their ICU and hospital stays are generally shorter, which saves money.
Yes, it's expensive, but well worth it when used appropriately.

Ride time is crazy expensive in this thing. I had to pay 8500 just for a 20 min flight. No joke..

Loved the Dauphin... Spent 10 years in the U.S. Coast Guard and was on the tie-down crew for one of these. Awesome bird.

A Dauphin is some serious kit for an EMS station, wow. Great paintjob. And the Daphin sounds almost as good as the good old LAMA does :-)
