Personally, I like ELLE better than the HIATUS because I've been listening to them for much longer. ELLE is more upbeat whereas the HIATUS is more mellow. Plus, Hosomi's voice is more fluent due to experience and the style of song. If you listen to the quieter songs by ELLE, you'd find his English is clearer.

I totally agree with you. I've liked ellegarden since 2001, and only just recently heard about hiatus. I really like hiatus, as I love Hosomi's voice and songwriting skills, but ellegarden are just so much more energetic and moving, in lyrics and in sound. The also have Shinichi Ubukata.
