  • Firestone will leave Liberia soon if it doesn't improve the pay rate and living standard of our people. We have open our economy to other investors who will rival firestone. We got other Asian companies on board like Sime Darby, Golden Agri, EBF, SIFCA, etc that are in both the rubber and oil palm sectors and will be manufacturing rubber and oil palm products for export to Asian and Europen markets. More than 150,000 direct jobs are to be created. Firestone can't tap that and it's just the start

  • THUMBS UP for, SUPPLY PC GLOVES FOR THE WORKERS TAPPING THE TREES FFS

  • Firestone will have to leave our country. Firestone please take your company somewhere else where they will condone your inhumane, malicious and deliberately harmful practices because you've caused enougth damages and destructions to our land and people. You boast of been the largest single pravite employer in our country with 7,000 total employees that took you 86yrs but however came with a great price.....I wonder why you can't come and planr your plantation in the US? can you tell me?

  • I mean seriously These people harvest our rubber that we make bank off of in our tires and what has firestone done for these people?

Were destroying their land and country....

But we built them a school and a hospital...and some little shacks to live in WOW that really makes up for all the enviromental damage...and all the damage to these people and their families

  • Come on people....you really think firestone gives 2 shyts about these people?

Trust me ive worked for the crooks for 8 years now...THEY ARE CROOKS NO WAY AROUND IT FROM WHAT THEY PAY THEIR EMPLOYEES TO BUSINESS PRACTICES....

When this happened and got out on the web the us ceo of firestone sent emails to all 3000 stores in the us....telling us how we did no wrong and not to talk to media....

They dont care about these people or their families....

  • I lived in Liberia in the mid 1980's. That Firestone plantation has been there since the beginning of the 20th century. With the long civil war, I thought Firestone would have been long gone like most of the Indian and Lebanonese merchants and all of the Swedish iron company. I guarantee you the Liberians working at that plantation are the lucky ones and they know it. Some qwi lawyer and Al-Jazeera "journalist" are there to right the evil of the boogieman American corporation. Pleeease!

  • I agree with U. Firestone is doing big things in Liberia. They are helping to build schools, offering scholarships to the less fortunate, etc. They are trying to paint firestone in a bad light.

  • If the white companies move out, it will collapse. Blacks have proven time and time again that they cannot support the infrastructure necessary to feed themselves, let alone successfully run a business.

    Look at South Africa.

  • The right name for yourself and your people...'BUCKSATAN1". That's exactly what you people are. Even good Caucasian people are betrayed by you peoples hate. You cause all kind of pain and agony on other races of people because of your jealousy. You pretend to be the savior of the world when in fact you are the occupier, the perpetrator and manipulator of the worlds land, poverty, grief and wars. You come as sheep, but you're alien in human skin. We know who the real Jews are. Death To Firestone

  • Blah blah blah, speak the truth.

Hows Zimbabwe doing these days with all the whiteys gone?

  • Shame on Firestone and on all kind of exploitation in the world!

Corruption is a plague like AIDS or diseases caused by smoking...

  • This isnt slavery , Charles Taylor and the RUF diamond marauders were slavers. Firestone should compensate the families by sponsoring the schooling of the children and no minor should work during school hours,Conditions should be made safer.

The school floor looks like concrete too me , The biggest cost is the educator and supplies. The government is broke and as usual corruption is present the country depends on hand outs and they just recovered from a civil war.

  • Two centuries after the atrocities of Belgians in the Congo, part of the African rubber trade is still based on slave and child labor. Putting Africans in charge doesn't help much, or what did you expect?

  • Where are our priorities? Quotas? Fire Stone continues to kill our future while the gov't sit idly by!

  • Thank you for posting this video.

  • I think that this amounts to slave labor. We need to stand up for human rights, which has to include environmental rights, rise up for the future of humanity.

  • I wasn't to impressed by that school. Firestone is a big corporation, I'm sure they can afford to build a school with a floor that isnt dirt.
