If everyone that thinks about suicide or had bad luck in love would enter monasteries there wouldn't be monasteries enough in the planet. It's funny how someone that had everything due to fans blame them for his misery... As well as it is funny to see a monk saying that he thought that his meaning for life was to make others happy but that it wasn't. (?!) Why are we all here then, to look only for ourselves? So many contradictions in one single person...
@YouAreLost2 ...Everyone has a different path, and not all are called to enter monasteries. Paddy's path, had him feeling as if he should please others, or bring them joy with his music, but found it was not creating the impact he desired. Now, he still has the same desire to help, but for him, it feels more effective, more far-reaching. I am sure he does not blame his fans, but reached his own crossroads. Not all are called to a monk's life, but rather, a devout life in God, in everyday life.
@creatornat How... long time since I wrote here. Anyway, you say he doesn't blame his former fans? Well, you should listen to the whole "testimony" before saying that. Anyway, I really don't give a damn about what this guy decided to do with his life I just think the things he claims are stupid.
@YouAreLost2 If you were a true christian you would give a damn. And you would give a damn not just for this young man but the whole of humanity as that is what jesus asked us to do. It was his last command and it seems you find that hard to grasp. Selling CDS?? When you buy a Cdof a pop group, do you get it for nothing?
@gezzad Excuse me. but a "poor little rich boy" that bashes thir fans, blames them for his misery (oh, poor little thing) and then comes allong asking them for money?!?! Doesn't he has money to do so?! No, I don't find hard to grasp that people should love one another but loving one another dosen't mean to accept everything anyone does, it's as simple as that.
@creatornat That whole testimony looks to me like a big joke and pure propaganda, something like "Hey, I'm the new St. Francis of Assis! Come and join the Catholic Church because me, being rich and famous like I was, also did!" People shouldn't turn to the Church because some singing famous monk did it and he should know that. What it seems to me is that he enjoys fame he just doesn't enjoy the bad things fame bring along.
@YouAreLost2 why should they not turn to the church becasue of a singing monk? is there a ceratin path you should follow to join the church. No! there is not. prayer is in everything. singing speaking doing etc. And if you believe yoursel to be Christian, well, it does not look that way. remember the apostles they gave up up all. Listen to this testimony. He was a heartbroken young man searching for the meaning of life. And he now bleieves he has found it.
@gezzad Why shouldn't people turn to the church because of a singing pop monk?!... Well, I don't know, maybe because people should turn to God and not to a monk?! Look, I don't only believe myself to be a Christian, I'm a cathequist... you know what that is? I don't use singing monks to atract kids to God, I use Jesus!!! He, alone, is the way. Oh, yeah, poor little rich boy... if he found his way maybe he should stick to it instead of atract attention to himself!...
@creatornat He should know better dough, because life is like a coin, it has 2 sides, and so it is with everything that happens along it. Now he can do what he likes (sing) and not be "disturbed" by fans because noone can reach him because of his "position"... lol, way to go boy! Look, the thing is, as a Catholic myself I could never aprove this sort of behaviour. I have nothing against the guy I just don't aprove what he does, he's a "bad example".
@YouAreLost2 ...I am new to the singer, sorry you feel the way you do. I have not been affected in this way by what he says, as of yet. Regardless of where he is spiritually, or may be, my love for Christ and being a Catholic continues as before. If you have concerns for any poor direction he may be leading people, perhaps you should pray for him. We all need the prayer of others, after all. God Bless, N
@creatornat The thing is, I don't really feel anything, it's just an objective observation. I don't doubt that he loves Jesus and wants to do what is right but having in mind his testimony... it's just too weird. And just to make things clear, I'm not a fan! ;) That's why I said it was an objective observation. I think people must be lead to God because they want to do it and not because some famous person did it. He's a human being like any other and should behave that way.
@creatornat But he is also famous... what gives him a biger responsability. To me this really sounds like propaganda and I don't like that. People roam to the places where he gives "concerts" to see him, not to reach God. Of course, not all of them but still... And going around asking the fans he first accused for money for a CD... come on... Anyway, I can't say he's particularly in my prayers but I do pray for most everyone in general. God bless you and yours too.
@YouAreLost2 Do you approve of john michael talbot. he plays concerts sells cds, vids etc. These guys need to survive. Its not as if he is benny hinn or those other wolves. He is just a young guy who gave up a lot to follow what he believed and i say good luck to him.
@gezzad Who said I don't wish him luck? I just said I don't agree with his behaviour, that's all. And it's funny, the priest and other cathequists of my parish have the same opinion as I do! If he chosed to be a monk he should live like one, simple. These guys need to survive? Of course they do, how many monasteries are there in the world? How many use former famous people to earn money? Ok, you tell me, even though I already know the anser...
@YouAreLost2 I take you mean Catechist / lay person. Your title seems to sum everyone up. We are all lost and searching for hope that we desire. But you have let evil into your heart by your vociferous crticism of this young lad. I bet you dont stay in a monastery. I bet yo eat the best of food, wear the best of clothes drive a nice car.
@gezzad You dare to critizise me and saying stuff about me without even notice... You condemn me for merely show my point of view by judging me which is quite interesting... I thought only God had the power to judge, yet you dare to act like Him towards me... And your "bets" are all wrong except for one: no, I don't live in a monastery, but I'm not a bad person for that! No, I don't eat the best food, I don't wear the best clths and I don't even have a car... Think before you say stupid things.
@YouAreLost2 ... I thought only God had the power to judge, yet you dare to act like Him towards me??? Pot calling kettle. You are judging young Paddy. He is trying to face life after a horrendous time, and it seems he has found peace in the one thing we all agree on. He is as much my brother as he is yours. So who is judging who. and for the record I am certainly not critizing you for being at Catechist. An admirable position i would say.
@gezzad You probably have some problems with understanding English... lol! I was not criticising JPM (as for "Paddy", I don't know who that is, but aparently you do, which explains your position...), I'm merely saying I don't agree with what he said while relating it to what he does! Even though I do think that if he wants to be a monk he should live like one.
@YouAreLost2 I certainly do not have problem with the english language. That is why I aksed if you were Catechist and not a "Cathequist". He is living like a monk. But not in medieval times. he is like all modern monks. Thay appear now and again an integrrate into the modern way of life. If you don't agree with what he is doing. FIne. i think what he is doing is admirable. After what he went through it is good that he has found God and decided to dedicate himself to Him.
@gezzad Well, since my first language isn't English, it's only normal that some mistakes might apear... but at least I do understand English with no problem at all, thing that you already proved yourself uncapable of! (even though English IS your first language) It's funny the way you say "modern monks"... do you actually have any idea of what your talking about? Anyway, aparently you don't have a life so I supose you have pleanty of time to figure out what I'm trying to say...
@YouAreLost2 as for your condescending reply and your "lol" statement, i would like to think that you do not teach that kind of langusge to others. At the end of the day I am sure god will not be too concerned about JPM (Paddy), when there is such evil exisitng in the world at the moment. infact I am sure God listens to him sing with admiration. We all fall short, and we are all sinners. There is not one said Paul.
@gezzad Well, first is "God" and not "god" as you wrote, secondly I only really use my "lol's" with people like you, that are here aparently defending people only because they are famous but still atack people like me who only stated an opinion. According to your posts, it's ok to judge me and call me evil (again, LOL) but it's not ok to state an opnion about a famous person (and again, I'm forced to use LOL here). And AGAIN, you go on avoiding my questions... Yeah, your moral is great...
@YouAreLost2 My point is this. He is a young man who lives on donations. makes music sells a few cds to get by. I have friend who makes things for a living, to get by. he is a young man who needs our prayers not condemnation. Sorry if you are reading too much into this, but God is love and He loves ALL. Thats why He shed His blood for ALL.
@gezzad He certainly has enough money to make a CD on his own... And again, I'm not condemning anyone, I'm noone to do so. I find interesting the way you don't answer my questions but keep on asking stuff to me... well, I shall not answer any of yours untill you answer mine.
@YouAreLost2 So how much money does he have then? He gave up his lifestyle for a different one. Jesus asked Peter to give up all and follow Him. Nevertheless Peter still had boats and nets to cast, when he was trying to cath fish. Jesus told him, Cast your nets to the right side. JPM was known as Paddy Kelly a fromer Pop star who realised that was not he wanted to do. Similar to John Michael Talbot. Who sells cds dvds books etc. These people need to survive just like us.
@gezzad Talking about someone who's primary language is English but still can't write properly... still, you did had the need to point out ONE mistake of a non native English speaker! See how impartial you are? (irony here of course!) Well he sure has money from his "former life" or did he gave it all to the monastery he's in? If he did so why is he asking money to the fans he first accused?! You still don't understand the problem, do you? He accused the ones he's asking money from now!
@gezzad And you surely don't need to point out the Bible for me because I already know what's there! I'm a Catechist, remember? I OBVIOUSLY know the Bible!... Even though it's funny how you compared JPM to St Peter instead of comparing him to St Francis of Assis, which would be, in a way, far more apropriate... oh no, wait, sure... St Peter is indeed far more "famous" the St Francis of Assis so it probably suits "your star" status better... (again, irony here)
@gezzad And what are you? A consacrated person? If you are well, you're not a good exemple. If you don't know what a Catechist is and does, it's your problem, not mine, yet yes, I do teach and guide kids towards Jesus, that's what a Catechist does, I don't have to be consacrated to do God's work and a consacrated person doesn't serves Him better then a lay one, if you do think so it's because you see consacrated persons as if they were in some sort of privileged position, which is WRONG!
@YouAreLost2 Things that this young guy had and saw it was worthless. He gives up at the point of suicide. Admirable. You crticise him for doing so. Deplorable. When he gets to heaven I hope he asks God to let you in. Free of charge of course
@gezzad Sure, like he's the only person on earth that dealt with suicide... I criticise him for doing so?! For doing what? It's admirable that he thought of suicide?! Are you insane or what?! And hopefully I don't need any monk to ask God to let me into Paradise... as far as I know, God Himself is the only one with power to do so. Again, you prove to know little about Him... whatever... you say I'm evil and still, look at your words towards me! Lol! You're a living contradiction!
i have depression too, paddy :( but me i trust no one, no psychoterapists.

@YouAreLost2 And just another little snippet for you. How much do think the vaticans is worth?
