Justin Sullivan and I are on opposite sides of the political spectrum, but so what? This is brilliant! I can appreciate art as well as the next person. New Model Freaking Army!
I would say this is inspired by the fights/wars that "Britain" has had over the Centuries, a Nation that has relied upon it's many parts, especially "the men of the North", whether it be the Lancashire/Yorkshire?Borders/Welsh/Scots...reg's
"May all those that have fought and died for OUR freedoms, rest in peace with the God of their choosing"....
and i'm not being an ****
my G'father died last autumn, he served in Burma 1940-44 with the Royal Scots Fusiliersand i never really thanked him!!!
I''m Scots, and i GET these guys, they're singing about THEIR identity, i've never seen them AND would love to, i share a lot in common with them, prolly cos I'm workin class and come from a"provincial" town...
i don't hate the English, just what their overlords did to all of us, English/Scots/Irish and Welsh, we were all proud Nations, and hopefully still can be...!!!
I'd be an advocate of regional ass'ys then the N. England might get a say in W'Minster, we need to stick together guys
@SuperChoronzon why the heck do you need a nation to be proud? You can just as well be proud to be you or have the friends you have or be proud to live on your street or in your town or somewhere in the hills that are scotland... why on earth would you need some 'england's' approval on that 'yes, you're scottish' (or irish of whatever), and your borders as accepted by us are here and there...? I just don't get it.
Mate you WILL totally have the best time . Have caught them on this tour and they are totally at the top of their game . New /renewed energy new songs and still loads of the same attitutude .. They are a totally unique experience live .. Forget the age thing get as close to the front as you can and worry about the bruises later ..have fun
fk it with the birth motif i had to say somthing, my brother came in one night with the falklands spirit , new model army album, vengence, i was twelve, it was new , born in 72, and from that time on ive listened to these guys , they always had the energy and still have, love em, they say it for me,And in all that time ive not seen them , till this year , im going to the 17th december gig, at last , Yesssssssssssss
hey guys, i was born in '92 and raised on this too. I'm even named after Justin Sullivan! they are certainly one of the best bands out there. crackin band!!
i know what you mean man. i was born in 1992, and i'm from one of those little villages that's like a non pretentious glastonbury if you know what i mean, new age travellers always hanging around. the sort that has the likes of NMA, the levellers, pogues, mcdermotts two hours... you catch my drift.
good times... and they still are really! if you imagine hard enough, it's still the early 90's. I do, and it's AWESOME!!!!
i was born in 97 and this is still better than anything coming out today

@dowzyget999 sorry mate, you DO have coal. Thatcher just decided it was better to exploit cheap labour than pay British workers a decent wage.

@TheLexyboy Nuclear power, reserving energy supplies, eco-fascist agenda, post-industrial economy, anti-unionism, etc, etc! l

If one song sums up what it was like to live through thatcher and the 80's, this is it. The opposite of nostalga, make me glad the past is over with.
