Watch this video. Italy got a free kick where they scored because of a sketchy decision on a foul, but they still didn't mark Panucci which means they are blatantly at fault. Italy also had a goal disallowed for no reason while Scotland's goal was offsides.
Watch at 6:00, it's an amazing and unfathomable scoring oppurtunity for scotland that wasn't on a set peice. I don't think I've ever seen that before.

For the record fannybaws Scotland should deserved that game especially when we come to find out that the ref was probably paid off. Take that free kick for example. The ref awarded the foul to the Italians when it was clearly THEM that actually fouled in the first place. Secondly the Italians have large rep for corrupt football. Also there were reports of the ref after being searched having several pieces of Italian "Propaganda" in his luggage.

i wouldn't be talking about the referee being paid, because if he was then he was paid by Scotland. He literally gave you guys a goal and took one from us. He also didn't make any foul after one of ur players elbowed Gattuso in the nose. Oh and btw I'm not sure if you're aware of this but for the last 20 minutes of the game we only had 10 players and we still scored a goal so you guys should be ashamed.

It's not new to accuse Italians of cheating even by minnows and it's a normal that many think they "almost" won against Italy. However, a team can't be a world champ many times "cheating" and being "almost" beaten through the whole tournaments... So you should not worry about crying losers. Italy plays awesome football that combines beautiful technical abilities with intelligent tactics from both players and coaches, making the game more interesting than the dumb play-station style of Brazil.

if i remember correctly we missed out on 7 penalty calls in those 4 games 3 of which were dead certs that the refs couldn't have missed.its down to fifa or uefa(what was the french head of fifa doin at the georgia scotland game when france were playing a big game the same night)...someone didnt want scotland getting through and had the money/power to do somethin about it(couldn't have euro 2008 without italy and france now could we).its disgraceful.

Hey all bitter Scotts: Upon replay Ferguson's goal was offside and DiNatale's goal was not offside. If you take these calls with the free kick call and "right them," Italy still won. And they won fair and square. Ref calls were lousy on all sides -- there was no cheating here. Italy deserved to win. We have the best talent of any team. Period. Best Midfielders. Best Defense. Best Goalkeeper and one of the Best Strikers.
