This clip has got to be based on Tom DiCillo's Box of Moonlight. Colin plays "the Kid" (Sam Rockwell in the movie) and Ben is the method-man Al Fountain (John Turturro). There are many homages to the best movie of all time. Everything from the intro music (Wall of Voodoo Call of the West) to the "Look at that moon" and the play on the key. Even the Kid's car is similar.. a gas guzzling tank of a 1967 Ford Galaxy with 390 V8. Americans shouldn't feel bad that it took a Kiwi to spot it.
