so it's not based on race, it's based on money? well, most of the people with money in Brazil are white, so again, it ends up being the same anyway...
This is true, the Brazilian government at the time encouraged European immigration, and even asian to "whiten"the people. Now for the surprise of many, Brazil is the 3rd country in the world with more whites.
The main immigration of Europeans in Brazil, Portuguese, Italians, Germans, Spaniards, Poles, these are major, but there are colonies of virtually all European countries in Brazil.
go to hell u who thinks brazil is only racism and carnival, is not that, not every people are racist, in all countries there is someone racist, brazil is fucking amazing
Are you kidding me? You consider slavery immigration? And you think there is no racial stereotyping or racism in Brazil? What a joke, this is very sad.
Actually there is racism in Brazil. I have Afro Brazillian friends and they say there's tons of discrimination against darker and afro brazillians. Also they say that Brazil encouraged europeans to come to Brazil after slavery to "Whiten" the country since most of the people of the country were afro descended or mixed. So don't be fooled, there is still racism down there. Sad to say but it's true.
@KakkoiGuy1 yeah, the problem is that many afro brazillians just act like victims of the past or whatever and goes to crime instead of getting hard on studying, working and all these things that people do to have a better life. People are lazy and prefer to guilt the racism, the govern, the riches, etc. for their poor life
@lilylutz Also, when I`ve been in US, a man from Nigeria said the same thing about the afro americans. There`s nothing to do with the color, it`s to do with the victim attitude. That`s why they give reasons for racism. BTW, I`m not racist. I have several friends that are afro decedent. But they don`t keep crying about racism, they study, they work, they do something to live well.
@jamalsutube that's the greatest bullshit i've heard in the last 5 years. I'm from brazil and say the greatest disparities are between rich and poor, there are almost no white/black separation, mostly because people are almost never completelly white or completelly black. Within this terms i agree with your "There's no equal opportunity in brazil" bullshit.
@lelyanra Because there's not. if the country is not completely black and white then why is there a racial quota system? and we all know that institutions and business class prefer lighter skin than darker skin so lets not kid ourselves.

Moron. There's no equal opportunity in brazil. the disparities between whites and blacks is much greater than the united states.
