He's not just sick in the corners, shoudn't forget he's also so sick at the straights!!!! While skating on a straight line he places his skate much more on the outside then others, watch it yourself. While being on the outside, unlike inlineskating, you have a moment of relaxation, your not pushing or try to stroke, you wait until you get on the inside for that. This gives him a huge advantage, he has more relaxmoments in his stroke, and can go own longer then others. looks easy, is extreme!
@lorenzob123 Man, his straights could be a lot better if he places his skates more to the inside, by placing them more to the inside you put more pressure on your skates, which makes you able to build up more speed. So don't comment if you don't know anything about it, okay?
@ReclamBusters understand your reply, but it's clearly a reply by someone who doesn't fully understand what it means to skate a middle distance at that level. You don't have a fucking clue how that power feels like, and you should watch video's of Nagashima or Oikawa (2 of the fastest accelerating skaters in the world) and you'll see that they place a lot on the outside aswell.. it's not about how you place them, it's about what you do with it after you've placed them
@ReclamBusters your one of those who watch high level sport and place comments, but you don't understand it; for instance the difference between style and technique. Although it looks different, in basic every skater tries to do the same basic principles... and i'm pretty sure i'll kick your ass on anything in which ice is involved. very sure
@ReclamBusters i find this really funny... you're a speedskater yourself (me also, 11 years) and you're probably dutch, and have this kind of opinion... if you were that good you would have known that you're opinion is way to ''conservative''... i once made the same mistakes as you did, now i don't and if you weren't such an idiot i would like to give you advice... you should be more open reclambusters... challenge me, and i accept anytime... no kidding
@lorenzob123 Please tell me your times on the 500 metres and the 1500 metres, than also remember that i'm only 16 years old, and still I know more about it than you do;)
I'm utterly impressed with Shani Davis' character and his nature at interviews. He is humble and has good head. I hope he gets many endorsements and success. I can picture him using his fame and wealth for the right reasons. CONGRATULATIONS!!
lol. I bet real money you couldn't explain it so I'll just do it for you. I'm sure you meant ALL COLORS. Although only immature people still see individuals as colors and not people.
holy f**k!! As a cross country and long distance track runner, this is spectacular for me to see! I had no idea that skating was such a high speed sport - and I'm amazed. Great video, thanks for posting it!
wotherspoon ones opened the 600m in 40.62 so an 1.05 in the near future should be possible alltough it sounds very strange

I have to admit, I don't care much for sports. With one exeption: SKATING!
Grew up with that in this freakin cold country, Norway. And that Davis (born august 16th 1982, Chicago ~ that he is
as fast as he is, world champion in both
allround and sprint! Makes me more happy than Obama moving into The White House. Call me an idiot or whatever I don't care I mean it.
B-)
