  • This over 2 years old now. Neal is still making music. See the video response above and several clips on my Channel, especially have a look at Tri's "The A Set" - never said his titles were original. As well as Irish band Tri he plays with acoustic band The Fallows. Regards

  • Have a look at some of the more recent clips of these players on my channel. There are a couple in the video responses to this clip. Cheers

  • Mind = blown

  • I've Won Three All-Irelands On The Banjo And I Still Couldn't Fugure How Did Some Of That Stuff!

  • @MrCoiste Neal has never had mush success at All-Irelands (best is 4th) for that reason. He likes trad sessions, but tends to play a little bit too originally for some Comhaltas judges tastes. If he ever has another go, he will have to reign back in a tad. Cheers

  • Amazing!!

  • Great change-up!! The subtle shift of pace also deserves a mention. Marvellous

  • this is amazing!!!!!! why didnt god make me born into an irish family, i want to play this music wahhh! i love this music soooo much!!

  • @HelloImUpsidedown Q How did you all get into irish Music? A: Niamh - well my dads Irish; Ciaran - My Grandads Irish; Neal - My grandad knew someone who is Irish! (from Radio 7Waves Interview in Feb 11)

  • Very good 5*****

  • Thanks for sharing¡¡¡

  • Oh...OH! By the way.The one critter who did NOT like this video/tune is probably from the planet Klingon and has no concept of the thumbs up down idea.....

  • Review of debut Trí CD - Snapshot by Michael Holmes (of Dervish)

A version of this set Track 7 on the CD

I am staggered by the CD. The maturity and ideas which carry through the whole body of the music single it out. There are some pieces on the album where they have more good ideas going on in one set than others have in whole albums. Im not kidding!

  • @GUKLASMYD I second that. I have the CD and it is bloody good listen.

  • ahh WOWWWW - thats all i have to say! lol sooooo good! =) keep it up!

  • Ok, I just stumbled on this video again and I'm wondering where you learned to play, Neal? Formal lessons? Details, please!

    Seriously, you have MAJOR skills.

  • Well done lads.. great playing !

  • Also, *love* the D chord you threw in the last time through, Ciaran (starts at 2:31). Simply brilliant...

  • I don't know how many times I've watched this video, but I just have to say you guys are both top-class players! I really love the fiddle playing - super smooth and full of lift, with lots of wonderfully creative variations - and the accompaniment is excellent too. My only bone to pick is Neal, next time can play those high C's all the way up to a C#? ;-)

  • Wow, great sound. Well done...:)

  • great musicians ....both of you

  • Have you finidhed the cd yet????????? if so where can I buy it

  • So young and so talanted.

  • This is great, good job you don't have a greek Bouzouki as they blow up after a few years. That's a lovely bit of fiddling. 5 * * * * *

  • I discovered This video yesterday, I think now that I've watched it around 15 times since. Absolutely wonderful playing. As a fiddler, i'm astonished by your playing.

    Great stuff lads!

  • How did you know I love Celtic music played so well?

    New sub, friend,

    Debby in New York

  • Sweet Beans, Macarthurs road was very motif!

    best in 2010. john

  • Bouzouki can be played all sorts of ways. I think the open chords work a freakin treat.

  • @0xXNirvanaXx0 bouzouki sounds great, so whats your problem with it?

  • its not supposed to be used for chords....if you can play greek music on it i applaud you

  • @0xXNirvanaXx0 this isnt greek music. and anyone that can hear a piece of music that sounds beautiful and say its wrong because "you arent supposed to play that instrument that way" is missing the spirit of what music is about.

  • Nice and groovy. Great !

  • Absolutely wonderful, dy-no-mite playing... both of you.

    Wow!

    *****

  • Great! And thanks for 'Friend' request. Cheers--Greg, Bronx NY

  • Nice one. I'm glad to see you had some good tunes for the holidays. I'm guessing Mcarthur's Road is a new tune for you. Sounds fresh and good.

  • It is a newish tune to them and it is great for variations and it never gets played the same way twice.

  • Wonderful-- I especially like the last 40 seconds or so.

When it started I thought I heard Jenny's Chickens... well, an all mixed-up version of Jenny's, that is. ;)

  • When someone writes a new tune it invariably sounds a bit like an older one. neal & Ciaran had also had a run through of Jenny's Chickens earlier, so it may have been in the back of Neals' mind when he was varying the main tune..

  • amazinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggg. I love it.

    marie

  • you guys are grand, what kind of fiddle are you playing.....

  • Excellent performance. Bodhran would certainly have rounded off the sound, but nevertheless, this is good as it is.

Well done to Ciaran for his playing after 3 months, but then I think it is in his blood to play these stringed instruments.

  • Absolutely delightful! Thank you.

  • That was neato-o-masquito. Thank you :D

  • tks for sharing this with me,,most beautiful,WOW,,and great setting!~~

  • Ciaran has been playing bouzouki for about three months now. Neal got one in Jan. You will probably see a set with them playing the other instruments in the near future.

  • With your music under the christmastree, it makes Christmas much nicer. Thanks for the new music! Keep on playing new music, and learning to play new instruments. Every clip is a new surprise. I wish 2010 will bring you again alot of fun in playing music!
