I've got nothing against Americans as people but they have to wake up and try resisting mass brainwashing that is going on! @Azunit Well I'm from the US and basically don't watch TV. Americans don't like or trust their government at all. We don't believe anything they say. We are sick and tired of our hard earned money going to stupid wars and so that we can have bases all over the world. We are not brainwashed as you say. @oubasy germany already lost, italy changed sides, romania lost, hungary lost... only axis power that was still fighting (withdrawing to be more accurate) was japan... no allies, low morale, exhaustion, low supplies etc.
and it was still necessary to drop two nuclear bombs on them? on civilians?

The nuclear bombs were dropped on major military targets. Hiroshima was the headquarters of not only the 5th Division but the Japanese 2nd Army. The city of Nagasaki had been one of the largest sea ports in southern Japan and was of great wartime importance because of its wide-ranging industrial activity. A mainland invasion would have been costly and bloody and we wanted to hasten the Japs surrender to keep the Soviets from advancing any further in Asia.

@Zukouh Regular bombs are very effective when you are targeting military. If you drop a nuclear bomb you KNOW that innocent people are going to get hurt and that pain will go on for generations after. So it's no excuse.
And now the same country is accusing others for having it and developing it (first Iraq, now Iran). Isn't that "a little bit" hypocritical?

Maybe, but it was a different time back then. We didn't know the Russians were incompetent, and we wanted to scare them and keep them from advancing further in Asia. The countries that you're talking about, though, are very unstable, especially Iran. Iran's government officials have continually sworn for years that if they ever got a hold of nuclear weapons they would use them on Israel and the United States. Unlike us, they don't care if they are destroyed in the process.

@Zukouh Try looking it from a neutral point of view. You can't call a country unstable when you are starting wars. My country, and it's neighbors, are about 1000 years older than USA and still we didn't have as much wars as you did.
What exactly makes you stable? Because you say so? You have democracy?
I'm sorry, but that is nothing compared to millions that were killed because you wanted to bring democracy, capitalism and so on, to them. That makes you more unstable than Iran.

@KCArmstrongXIIV Yes I fold. Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to grow up in a peaceful and stable environment where I get everything I want without a fight (war fu.cked me over). So forgive me if I don't want to compete in "I have more money than you" competition. It's just that I learned (growing up in that situation) that there are more important things in life than money and power.
