SF4 Ranked Gameplay: Saqs(Rose) vs. Arikado(Zangief)

I feel like if Zangief's Ultra and Super, are a bit overpowered. And Seth's Ultra is weaker then a 12 hit combo. Anyone else feel the same?

Man I hate this matchup as Rose (or anyone for that matter) I fee like you have you run away from Gief all the time and make him have to overextend to even stay in the match. Course, it doesn't matter if Gief knocks you down, because he has a pretty good chance of getting more damage (Crossup splash, PPP lariat...ughhhhh)

that was a pretty good zangief. i actually picked up rose today and felt really comfortable with her, i was able to do some combos and i like how she has a projectile and is not a shoto yet not a charge character. big plus for me. i will train a bit with rose but thank you for all the encouraging vids. p.s. just subscribed

The only way I ever win against a Zangief is to out-pressure him. His crossups defeat my defense every time. And you can wail on him for twenty seconds only to have him even the score in one move. Sucks. :)

who are you using to out pressure the MASTER of the pressure game? Gief is always about chasing the other person down and applying prepssure, i doubt you even know what you're talking about if you "out pressure gief". you're probably just a scrub so don't bother replying

@pacificnfresh: Well, I probably AM a scrub -- I'm certainly not professional level (even in my dreams)! However, I mean what I say when I talk about out pressuring Z. I main Fei, and without a projectile I have to really turn up the offense to keep Z off-balance. I can't hurt him without being within his range as well, so I have to use a lot of low/overhead mixup, a lot of rekka from midrange to catch him on the approach, and a LOT of EX-chickenwing to escape. THAT's what I mean.

I love all the scrubs compaining about Zangief being overpowered just because they can't be bothered to learn the match-up and cast out thier pattern playing ways.

Yes hes a powerful char, but he also has some of the worst match-ups in the game and it takes real patience and skill to use him effectively.

Im guessing the majority of these complainers are shoto Ryu/Sagats...

People only say Zangief is a cheating, POS character when they can't beat him :D. That's why we should all use the same 3 or 4 characters. It keeps anger and annoyance at a low.

It CAN hit lariat, but it can also go clean through him without actually hitting, just like projectiles. Its all about the timing.

The deal is there's a short amount of time for Gief to react to an ultra if he's just standing still. if he does a lariat right after the ultra, it'll miss, but if he's already doing one, then it hits him. It's too bad Gief vs Rose is such a match of patience. I almost lose as Rose out of boredom. Or because I forgot to backdash and ate 3 SPDs...

I have a big problems with Kens, Ryus in SF4 online. I really hate when I'M tricked jumping High Kick, sweep, sweep, throw now i'm in a corner and i'm getting fierce shoryuken all day long after. Right now i'm working on Rose to counter the Rushing jumping high kick thing and it works really well, but man I hate the people who always play the same thing and are so predictable that when I fail to counter their stuff i'm so angry toward myself grrrrr >=(

It's not entirely your fault when your character doesn't have the necessary tools to handle certain situations.

The Ken/Ryu scrubs you lose to wouldn't have a clue how to deal with jumpins if they didn't have easymode shoryuken which beats EVERYTHING.

yeah bison gives me fits too, as does a few non fireball characters, cheap vega and guiles remarkably annoying too. i see you don't use Rose's special a lot, it's pretty safe to pull out, and low-risk imo
