These are probably made in Mexico, with lots of Ford components, leftovers from the Escort/Tracer days, simply put, not very well engineered. I just can see this thing falling apart after couple of years, I wonder if Ford still has a saying on how it's built. Mazda is one of those companies that have been left back in times never able to catch up; selling outdated technology.
@kc2zxl It's made in Hiroshima, Japan. And only in Hiroshima, Japan. Which stinks when you have a semi-major accident, and have to wait for parts. Like two months. Like I did. But I still like the car, and it hasn't had any parts sourced from Escort/Tracer...the 2.5 MZR is Mazda's take on the 2.5 that Ford uses in the Fusion and Escape. BTW, on what basis are you drawing your conclusions?
@saenzlopez Its not hard to classify for Europe and those markets but no one knows what the hell an MPV is over here in the states well they might think its Mazdas old minivan that this replaced...
I like the rear of this 5 over the last one..unless stacked tail lights give you the cool feeling of driving a 'tuner mobile'...as for the stacked console, I have no issues with mine, but I'm 5'11. And PLEASE..no more wimpy complaints about road noise...
In Europe there are FAR more wagons than in America. Right now there is not ONE mainstream wagon being sold in America, and only the E-Class has a 3rd row.
@reevsaj When you say, estate car, do you mean station wagon? Cuz here in the US, the only makers of estate wagons are Mercedes, BMW, Acura, and VW--and they're offerings are a little more premium than a 5.
I love the back design :)

I still prefer the vertical tail lights from the previous design.

NOBODY WANTS TO DRIVE A BIG "SMILING" VAN! I SWEAR EVER SINCE FORD SOLD MAZDA, MAZDA HAS JUST BEEN SLOWLY GETTING WORSE AND WORSE.

It's a micro-van. See, not that hard.

Not everybody in the world will agree with you and like the cmax. I actually like the mazda way more.

@reevsaj Because in the US, there are none that are in that price range, nor that nice.

The rear is so ugly in these & the interior quality is just terrible. The Ford C-Max version will make the Mazda5 look cheap & pointless.
Intechdude300 9 months ago 2
I had to rent this car once. I wasn't too thrilled about being seen in it. I thought it was ugly.
