i think the average pilot of a A-10 Thunderbolt II or the crew of a M1A2 Abrams have done more for world peace than Obama. those guys saved thousands of lives cuz when hajis hear and feel the rumble of our planes or our MBTs they typically drop their rifles and get the fuck out of there. the only reason violence is down in iraq is cuz the actual peacemakers in this country shot and killed all the dumb fucks retarded enough to pick a fight with US military
In my opinon Obama is a good man but an unfit leader and as far as the nobel prize is concerned what has he done so far in his presidency to earn the nobel prize and as far as him being the black president does it really matter if he is black or not, and for the record he is half white, to me this is some what racist
Our 300 million people produce 2x the GDP of China ($14.7 Trillion compared to $7.8 Trillion)
So with 5% of the worlds population we produce 20% of the worlds goods and assets. Yes we are exceptional.
Chinese dissident Wei Jingsheng, Relief group SOS Childrens Villages, or Congolese gynecologist Dr. Denis Mukwege would all make better picks.. Especially Mr Mukwege.
Ha, those statistics are very misleading. We're $12 trillion in debt and a lot of that is debt to China. We import waaaaay more than we export. The value of our dollar is steadily decreasing. Have you noticed why things are getting more expensive, for example bread and gasoline? The value of the dollar going away. The government has been continually putting us in debt the past 60 years. Every day we go 3.87 billion more dollars in debt.
The majority of that is due to social programs, most of whom have enormous waste. Dept. of Education for example has $45 Bil budget each year and each year they do not know where $5B goes. They have 160k employees in DC that have 92k government cars, and average $112k a year in salary not counting benefits. Why? Drop it, fold the testing into the Interior, maybe 15k jobs there at most, and send the money to the states directly. Would be a 20% gain for school districts nationwide!
"We're not the most important thing in the world."
Most influential (i.e. important) in terms of politics and economically. Should you look at one country as being the most important in this world, it certainly would be the US.
"Peace matters more to Chinese than to Americans."
Why? What does population size have to do with valuation of peace?
BTW. Presidential qualities does not come from attending Harvard or working as a community organizer - not that I don't think he's (somewhat) qualified.
So you don't care that he gave his wife's job millions of taxpayer dollars which she pulled out of that company as a gigantic salary and bonuses that she put in their bank account?
i think you're onto something with morgan tsvangirai, he definitely has done alot to promote peace in a war torn region of the world. But then again, I suppose Obama has done "promoted" peace all over the place...
What war did he stop? What peace did he promote? He got nominated 12 days into his presidency. What the hell did he do to deserve it? All he's done, as I've seen, is said alot of nice words about nuclear bombs and peace. If a Tom Cruise movie "inspires hope" in millions, does Tom Cruise deserve the nobel peace prize?

I think Christiane Amanpour, Tsvangarai, Bill Clinton, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Pat Condell could have been candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Yes he deserves it because because he earned it. But I agree with you that there are people who also could of gotten it too.
