His card trick is called the Chicago Opener. It is taught on several magic dvds. Penguin magic sells one called in the trenches that has some really good tricks along with a variation of chicago opener. It's quite fantastic.

He was at my college in January...Lyndon State College in Vermont. He did the ring trick with my boyfriend and I... I have no idea how he did it...it's great.
