i just finished biking from dc to pittsburg on the

c & o and great alagany passage on a specialized hard rock sport and i thing im going to bring it up a notch and get the rock hopper

no i havent, but i went on a downhill course with this bike and handle bars work fine. and you could always replace them if you dont like them.

This is a nice bike. I'm just watching this review because I'm actual going to go buy the 09' of this bike and now I have enough proof to tell that this is a good choice.

Its a good choice for simple trail riding but when i tried downhill it was very difficult so if you want to go on very rocky,bumpy,and terrian with jumps you would want a full suppension bike, but if you dont want to do that stuff than its a good bike.

ya trail riding and a little jumping. I love to mountain bike,i read your channel that you work on bike for your job,at one point i was going to do that but the shop went out of business, but luckily there is another bike shop in my area

Thats cool! i love trail riding. I also race on the team that my shop sponsors! Working at a bike shop definitely makes you want to ride every day! you should work at the bike shop in your area.... it gives you a look into a completely different atmosphere when you are around other riders all the time.

Interesting you changed the tires and got new specialized. It's a middle range bike, but the frame is good enough to do upgrades.
