The first and second step is called a step-back which is often used to create space and is perfectly legal.
His right foot was established as his pivot foot so he never switches pivot foot.
The last step is called a step-through and unless you're going to be an ass about which foot left the floor first then this play is perfectly legal.

The second one is not a travel. You're allowed to jump from your pivot (just not switch it). But it is funny (and pathetic) to watch these Kobe ball lickers not even be able to admit that he travels (like in the first one).

While I agree they were both travels, in the first one, there were only three steps. That 'stepback' is only one step. The moving of the pivot foot caused the travel.

@MCskittle23 on the first example...his second step is his first, he synchronizes what you call " first step" with his dribble, and he used that step to do a jump stepback and landed on 2 feet which allows you to chose which foot you would like to pivot with, in this case he pivoted with his left........>Watching WNBA and playing community basketball at age 10 doesn't teach you anything about the game
