Wow. I take that back. According to what I just read on Wikipedia the talented director of this movie Robert Rossen { All The Kings Men and The Hustler} was so alienated by Warren Beatty during the making of this movie that he stated, "I'll never make another movie. Who needs that grief?" I guess Beatty could be absolutely mind numbing to work with. Very difficult at times. He's shoot a scene 56 times when directing. Too bad. This talented director {Rossen} died at 57.
I never saw this movie. I really liked Beatty before Shampoo and all that. I think he was an underrated actor. I like his early stuff as far back as The Roman Spring of Mrs Stone. I loved Bonnie and Clyde, The Parallax View and McCabe and Mrs Miller {which he should have won an Oscar for.} He talked and thought about a movie on Howard Hughes for years but never did it. I think Warren's body of work could have been more than it is. He was a very bright guy and certainly had the "it" factor.
Beautiful video! I remember this movie. I think this was Warren Beattys best movie. Warren Beatty was good in this movie but Jean Seberg was beyond words
wow, I have this movie on its way from Netflix. when I read the description, it sounded awesome and now, after seeing this, it looks awesome too. thanks. looking forward to seeing it.
I am from and grew up in Silver Spring, MD near the Rockville area. I worked in Rockville. I have lived most of my adult life in Mass. I have worked in Mental Health now for almost 30 years. I saw this movie for the first time yesterday. I loved it. I never knew this was filmed in Rockville until I read the caption that said a small town in MD. So, I researched and found out it was Rockville. Also, it was Gene Hackmans movie debut.
the scenes of old town Rockville, Maryland where the film was shot bring back great memories! Nice to see the falls at Great Falls park haven't changed since back then!!!
