If it's proven that this night has very high importance, why not keep night vigil and pray?

AFTER ADMITTING that this night has excellent blessings, you need NO EVIDENCE to say that Sahaba r.a. kept night vigil to reap those benefits. If anyone wants to conclude the opposite, he has to SHOW EVIDENCE to say that Rasulullah s.a.s. didn't observe night vigil IN SPITE OF it's excellent blessings and they just allowed the night to pass over their sound sleep! Hope that's simple.
