Not saying in this instance, because obviously macing hurts, but part of security at an event's job is crowd control/safety. They step in when someone gets injured, when there's a fight or any kind of danger present, when crowd surfers almost eat shit before falling over the guardrail. They do all of that and then some. That goes along with ensuring the safety of performers and their belongings. That's quite a handful to worry about.
