Watch the video of mine. Its running stock 7.5psi in the video but now i've got a 11.5psi pulley that spikes to 13psi at top rpm. Give me somemore views!
I have to disagree! thats not always the case! Ive raced a few s/c xr's when my xrs was stock and pulled about a car length on all of them instead of the normal 3-4 car lenght. And the trd s/c for the 1zz hasn't been available for months! It's been discontinued
not worth it! the awd xr (1zz) sucks! its heavy and slow! 130 hp tranfer to the wheels is about 100whp or something like that! thats why is really wasnt that popular!
The AWD 'is' slow, but I would love to have one of those with a supercharger. Not for racing, but more for driving in areas that are muddy, or have high inclines where grip is needed. With only 100 hp at the wheels, it wont go up some more drastic inclines. Out in Prescott AZ there are some areas this car with a SC would shine with AWD.
The awd mechanism in the matrix isnt made for performance!... it is nothing compared to the awd in a subi or evo, its just made for "grandpa" to drive better in the snow, its been proven and discussed many times before
yeah true, but i myself own a pontiac vibe which is the same thing basically.. and it can push up to 300+ whp i have seen personally, and the car is hella light then other cars don't you agree?
Cool video! The XRS and XR are great cars, they ride like they are on rails. I never taken one on a slalom course, but I bet they do very well there. The supercharger option looks to be a good one. I remember how upset many people were when TRD decided not to have a supercharger option for the XRS. They told me it is because the engine has the lift option that raises compression and it was a problem when supercharging it. I wonder how good an XR with a manual and S.C. would do?
If lift was a problem then why was the greddy and blitz s/c available for the 00-02' Celica??? Lift has never been the problem or compression! A turbo or s/c 2zz can run all day strong with the perfect tune! Now the real problem is that since 98ish or 99ish Toyota has been trying to leave the performance department! And concentrate on making it a "green" company which explains the lack of performance support from TRD. do some better research dude!
I drive an XR 5-speed. It's completely stock, and probably will stay that way since a supercharger is aroun $2900 without the installation fee. But if I had the money I'd install one in my car and it would make a decent sleeper.
@nd4spdnd4spd lol! listen kid, i dont need a website to know shit, look it up yourself, read, search, then get back to me

Yes, TRD sells the supercharger kit for the XR only. This kit makes it faster than a stock XRS.

Its ashame about the SC for the XR being discontinued.
Racing is also about who is actually better driver wise.
The XR 4wd model would be cool to add the supercharger to.

Emissions killed the 2zz by the way! Not its high revving, lifting, high compression characteristics

wrong! the s/c alone is +3k! installation and tuning another 500-800ish plus all the other stuff you need youll be around $4,500ish
oh and good luck trying to find a trd 1zz s/c! the dont make them anymore

My bad, I forgot to add in the install cost. But anyway, it's alright because I'm keeping the car stock.
