Indeed the six notes of the melody are exactly the same as both Finding Nemo's "Fronds Like These" and the Band of Brothers theme... but the instrument choice, tempo, and the remainder of the score are original. So it's nothing to find fault in, it's simply a popular tune because it breaks apart a powerful chord and it stretches from high to low notes in a short time. Any musician would understand :D
MUCH better movie that I anticipated! I thought it was just another one of those hollywood action movies, but this was sooo great! One of my surprising favourites!
I love that feeling when a song can stir a soul and evoke such powerful emotions like this song does. It's scary what music can do if you think about it.
This made me cry, cause when I watched this movie first it was with my girlfriend(now ex) and we argued over what the girl meant at the end when all the cops were in her house. I said she was luring Doug and she said she was warning him. Memories.. :)
When i first heard this song, i began to cry. Wondering why, I realized it was in the same key as the Finding Nemo theme, one of my all time favorite films.
Ben Affleck did great obviously, but I see nobody commending Harry Gregson-Williams. This guy is an amazing composer/producer. I mean the guy did the Metal Gear Solid franchise!
So now we feel pain for a bank robber who spread terror and stole bunch of money people worked their ass off. Just cus he had a fucked up child hood and decided to go into crime.
@ExSoldierSith People can feel pain if they want if they can relate. I personally do not condone of the choices Doug made in the film to rob banks and such but he was a product of his environment. No one can choose the family they are born into and some children are born into a world of violence while others with all the privileges the world has to offer. The story he was pretty much that Doug had a realization he is not a bad person.
@ExSoldierSith In my opinion, I don't think a bad child hood has anything to do with it. I had a very bad childhood because of my neighbourhood and my background, I still choose to do the right thing and I am still shit scared of gangs and murderers e.c.t. People like me have just got the advantage cause we're used to it, we can protect ourselves better. If you grew up in a shit neighbourhood, and new where to get weapons, it only takes a bit of anger and your a criminal.
@ExSoldierSith I feel sorry for you if you think that's the point of the movie. We empathize with Doug because no matter what he's done, he still desires to change and to atone for his mistakes. Who are you, or anyone else, to deny him that? His struggle is one we've all undergone.
No, we feel pain for a bank robber because he realized the error of his ways and made an honest effort to atone for his sins and abandon his old way of life.
You missed the entire point of the movie if you think it was just about a bad guy we're supposed to feel bad for. Why do you think this film received overwhelmingly positive reviews?
He made a poor choice, admits it and says he has to face the consequences but will change his life.
@ExSoldierSith I don't think we're necessarily supposed to feel bad for him. One of the things I liked about the movie was how it spun its story. It's hard to know whose side to be on. On one hand, Doug is the anti hero. He's the bad guy while the FBI Agent is just trying to do his job. But we can kind of see it from the criminal's point of view too.
This film has become one of top favorites. I even thought it was better than HEAT, and that came to a surprise to me cause HEAT is one of the best films EVER.
Just watched the movie! I really enjoyed it and I commend Affleck's directing skills. Plus I agree with this comment: "This movie wasn't a mob movie, it was a love story destructed by crime and violence."
well i been searching today and i cannot find the song from the movie "dont leave"...and i am thinking it must have been the very last song from the movie, is there any chance you know who sang that song! i type it in, and there are no leads to it anywhere! if u could help, i would really appreciate it! thank u! and i loved this movie and loved the soundtrack!
"Claire, take this you'll do better wit it than i can. By the time you read this i'll be long gone not the way i planned it, but for the first time in my life im leaving this city. Maybe if i go, i can stop looking. No matter how much you change, you still have to pay the price for the things you've done...So i got a long road....But i know i'll see you again , this side or the other..."
