  • @MrCutterschoice-House of Blues has at least one version of "Shake em on down" in their collection. I have it loaded into my computer!

  • Does anyone know if these three did any studio recording together or even any live albums?

  • @MrCutterschoice pretty sure they didn't

  • I love watching him play, there is just something about that smile. R.L. seemed to love what he did, and what he did was play some kick ass motherfuckin' blues!

  • man is there anybody better?? i wish he was still alive. i would have loved to see him play and to have met him.besides being one of the greatest blues players ever i am sure he was quite a character too. his music is hard to find. R L you may be gone but you will never be forgotten.

  • what could i say? he´s the best. it´s unbelievable!

  • thanx cjohnson for postin this, I so love RL/wynn ^5

  • didthey all play together long? never heard schooley before, plays good w/ RL

  • it's so cool that this is in norway, it just speaks to the universal appeal of good music. Well Well Well!

  • Cedric and Schooley are so awsome

  • WoW! I love R L. Burnside but never heard b4 John Schooley. His playing is amazing!!!

  • RL Burnside drinks your milkshake.

  • great great great!

  • Oh man this guy is amazing!

  • this is music! and its real as it gets. mainstream has no heart

  • Yup. It's all about what will sell.

  • What kind of guitar is the lead guitarist playing?

    (Not RL)

  • Thats John Schooley.

A guess on the guitar is Univox. Not really sure.

  • thanks mate!

  • Telecaster

  • @Weltar Thanks for the answer mate, is it perhaps a Fender Japan Tele?

Or is it Univox as fuxgood guessed? O_O

    Thanks for answer in advance.!

    peace.

  • @SavantSvant my money would be on it being a peavey.

I don't know RL personally but I'm betting he was.

    :-)

  • Rest in peace, R.L. Of course, we know you're not resting with the Lord, you're ROCKIN' THAT JOINT! I miss this guy :(

  • The drummer is his grandson Cedric Burnside, one of 35 grandchildren.

Cedric plays with Lightnin' Malcolm most recently. He has accompanied big names such as Seasick Steve when he pitches in down South for a while.

  • Cedric Burnside is flashy? He is just rockin' the joint like his grandpa, R.L. the guy in the hat sitting down singing and playing guitar he is kind of famous in the blues world and I guess also a bit in the rock world as well.

  • Cedric is playing just fine thanks. He is as legit as you can possibly get...even Muddy's old drummer (the one I'm thinking of is BIg Eyes Smith) would have played pretty dang similar and he was pretty understated.

  • yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

  • je dirai tout simplement "Sublime"

  • I was just thinking the same thing after seeing a video of John Lee Hooker on some huge stage in front of thousands of people with the Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton. These guys should put their egos aside for at least a few moments, turn the damn distortion down, and treat the guys who made it possible for them to become "stars" with a little more respect.

  • You guys are being silly.

Dinkydao is right, that's Cedric Burnside, RL's grandson, on drums. He's a great musician in his own right.

If RL hadn't wanted to make music like this, he wouldn't have. Don't try to put that "sell out" crap on him.

  • @stylee10 /Cedric Burnside rocks, I dunno how tha kid does it, but he do's it/john lee hooker/canned heat

  • A bunch of musicians having a good time and playing an awesome old blues song. I think it's great, i can't understand snobby comments which say what RL (or any blues guy) should have done. It's their music and they obviously like this.

  • youre aware that the rolling stones literally dragged John Lee Hooker into the public view, right?

    learn y'all's blues history. jackass

  • Well I imagine R.L. was trying to pass the torch, I am pretty certain the drummer in the band is his grandsone Cedric.

  • so what youre saying, is that you know more about how RL BURNSIDE should make music than RL Burnside

  • Of course it would have been nice if he found his fortune earlier, but at least they (the white recording executives) didn't turn him into another cleaned up blues man for the masses like so many of them. I just hope RL was a happy man when he passed away. I treasure his music.

  • Best blues man ever! Saw him live in Ottawa Fantastic!!!

  • cedric burnside is a hell of drummer, great family band, wish I could have seen them play

  • I wish R.L. could have found his fortune earlier...he deserved it.

  • NO!!! your kidding me!!, ofcourse i know he is dead -_-*

  • Keep The Blues Roling, just roling man.

  • HE DEAD ALREADY MAN HE DEAD

  • I was born and raised in Memphis, been listening all my life too this kind of music and I STILL can't get enough!!! RL did it HIS way and his way was BAAAAAAAAAAAD... RIP RL

  • Yea!!! Boogie On!!!
