Perhaps people expected too much too quickly. The mess the USA was in in 2009 when he took office was primarily the result of 8 years of mismanagement by the Bush Administration. It will take a long time to clean up.

The deficit was mostly caused by two senseless wars and the fiscal crisis by a lack of oversight, with possible corruption and fraud. Did the stimulus fail? We are not in another Great Depression.

I admit I was hoping for more faster, but realistically, what do you expect?

A slag heap is a large mound of waste material from a coal mine or factory. For the record, "Beyond the Blue Horizon" goes back a lot further than Michael Nesmith. Of the many versions I've heard, I really like Lou Christie's. Just look at the list of videos on the right side of the screen. There's a rendition to suit almost anyone's taste.

Watching the rescue of the Chilean miners, It occurred to me that if Obama were involved, he'd halt the operation for an environmental impact study.

Someone should send Obama back to Kenya from where he came. Sad that our senior citizens can't afford to live in their own homes and he cut off their social security raises two years in a row but his family can take vacations every month while our dollars are paying for them to play.
