No. It sonds sort of the same guitar, but man look at Ian looks freaking sad, sad, and i've seen them looking real happy in Perfect Strangers video and Ritchie the uncomfortable one but all is Perfect there, u should be like way nicer to him u just blow him off like nuthin or what wow, maybe u all are the mean ones, I don't know.
Deep Purple did this Live for the first time ever last night at the Machester Apollo. They didn't play 'Perfect Strangers' at all, but did this instead. Amazing!
u dont go to theis conserts to hear the same songs like then....but hell....look at gilan....its respect...he is not the same, for sure, butjist stare him.
I think Ian's trying to take revenge on Ritchie by giving his lovely solos to amateurs to play.. now he should give it up and enjoy his retirement at least for the sake of Deep Purple and old legendary times..
This song should be forbidden to be played without Blackmore. Nothing against this guy.... but he´s lightyears away from Ritchie like anyone else on this planet...
I don't know how you can say that. This wasn't that bad. Give Ian some credit, he is sixyty-something and still singing. I am sure this was the last song of the set. You can tell Ian was a little drained but it still rocked!
Maybe you're right, I've been a bit too hard with Ian... the fact is that I have akways in my head the studio version... I love it soooo much!!! Ian and Ritchie are my rock heroes!!!
the only problem being that Blackers refused play it live- grrr!!! so all we have from RB is the album version - I think these guys do a great job here
The guitar player is actually very good...nice feel and melodic style! He of course can't compare to Ritchie, but who can?? Doesn't mean this guy is bad however!
Purple really should do this one, it's a great song. Sadly I think the reason is that this one from the Mark II reunion, so maybe Ian think's it's got too much Ritchioe about it.
Ian on stage without the welsh bass wizard in hat!! ha ha... he may have aged a bit but by god he can still sing great eh?!!! New DVD coming out soon 40 yrs in rock or something can't wait for it mate!
Awesome, great, wonderfull Ian Gillan! I have no words to express what i feel everytime i see him standing still. I hope he'll continue singing for a long, long time.

The best Purple song of the 80s; it is to the 80s what "When a Blind Man Cries" was to the 70s...powerful, melancholic...
