Look at the trap speeds of the 2 cars in the 1/4 mile. Tells you a lot right there.

I have 07 bmw 650 and 07 escalade.. Driving Escalade is much more fun because of great interior options of Cadillac cars.. BMW outfit is great but interiors suck seriously.. There is nothing fancy...

i don't think this car exudes as much class as the jaguar xfr, however, it is more focused. the bottom line is that most people buying these cars aren't pushing them as hard as they can. they just want a lot of power and comfort, and the jag delivers that. plus, it's almost as good as an m5 on the track, and praise doesn't come higher than that.
i'd get the cadillac in a manual and in gray, it is a great car, but my heart lies with that jag.

I'm not going to get into a arguement contest online. It's simple, I think that the cts-v is complete rubbish, and the interior feels cheap and looks cheap. Yes it is .1 faster than a M5 but stil, it just feels cheap when i sat in it, and it did nothing for my eyes or sense. so cars are a personal thing, and if you dont feel it, well, you dont feel it, so nice for Bugatti and their designs
Well this is really a fine automobile in its class. All of the current cadillacs are fine cars. Its too bad more buyers don't realize that. My favorite of them all is the base CTS. I have no need for this monster. Still it is an impressive achievement. But now it will go bye bye after this year. As part of the bail out condition the V spec division at cadillac was KILLED.
Then again, GM's management should be ashamed. The new SRX? A Saturn with a Cadillac badge? If anyone doesn't remember, they tried that in the 80s, it was called the Cimarron and it killed Cadillacs image for years to come.
i own an '05 CTS-V and i have absolutely fallen in love with it. i bought it for 26k when i got home from Iraq and after all the other sport cars i've had, (5.0L 93 LX mustang, 90 IROC, etc.) this is bar far the vehicle ive ever owned. im starting a family now in my late 20's and this car lets me still have the excitement of a sports car with the safety and luxury of a family car. do your self a favor and buy this car

The 2010 E AMG is faster than the 2010 CTSv
The F10 2011 M5 will be faster than the 2010 CTSv
Also they are not twice the price. The M5 is 20k more, the E AMG63 is 30k More

@heartboy86 They are electronically limited to 155 mph. Not mechanically limited. If both the m5 and ctsv are let go, the M5 has a higher top speed. Pretty amazing for being released 6 years before the current CTSv.
Don't be jealous of the M5 just because it's a better car. The next one is coming out next year to compete with this generation of the CTSv. :)

Oh yeah, well were is the Panamera Turbo's Nurburgring lap time? Haven't seen one yet, so the CTS-V remains the fastest V8 production sedan in the world. I really don't think the Panamera can beat the V on the 'ring. The Panamera is fast 0-60 because its AWD gets the power down. But from 60-150, the V will beat it. Look at the trap speeds of the 2 cars in the 1/4 mile. Tells you a lot right there.

I have 07 bmw 650 and 07 escalade.. Driving Escalade is much more fun because of great interior options of Cadillac cars.. BMW outfit is great but interiors suck seriously.. There is nothing fancy...

NO COMPARISON ON NURBURGRING.
First of all, Nurburgring has a lot of straights, favouring the CTS-V.
Secondly, 7:59 for the V is GM's claim, M3's time was done by a magazine. Manufacturers cheat, they use mods and race gas, they've got more time and resources and their drivers can afford to drive the car faster and more at the limit.
Look at any normal track. Laguna Seca for example

i don't think this car exudes as much class as the jaguar xfr, however, it is more focused. the bottom line is that most people buying these cars aren't pushing them as hard as they can. they just want a lot of power and comfort, and the jag delivers that. plus, it's almost as good as an m5 on the track, and praise doesn't come higher than that.
i'd get the cadillac in a manual and in gray, it is a great car, but my heart lies with that jag.

I'm not going to get into a arguement contest online. It's simple, I think that the cts-v is complete rubbish, and the interior feels cheap and looks cheap. Yes it is .1 faster than a M5 but stil, it just feels cheap when i sat in it, and it did nothing for my eyes or sense. so cars are a personal thing, and if you dont feel it, well, you dont feel it, so nice for Bugatti and their designs

Well this is really a fine automobile in its class. All of the current cadillacs are fine cars. Its too bad more buyers don't realize that. My favorite of them all is the base CTS. I have no need for this monster. Still it is an impressive achievement. But now it will go bye bye after this year. As part of the bail out condition the V spec division at cadillac was KILLED.

i own an '05 CTS-V and i have absolutely fallen in love with it. i bought it for 26k when i got home from Iraq and after all the other sport cars i've had, (5.0L 93 LX mustang, 90 IROC, etc.) this is bar far the vehicle ive ever owned. im starting a family now in my late 20's and this car lets me still have the excitement of a sports car with the safety and luxury of a family car. do your self a favor and buy this car

The car (The M5) that they say prayers to before they go to bed has been beaten time and again in various tests by this incredible 2009 CTS-V, and instead of a classy congrats to Cadillac and GM, they show their true colors by nit-picking about the car. Cheer up, I hear that this is the swan song for the V division at Cadillac as the division is being disbanded. Now BMW has a chance to play catch-up! BMW makes a profit on each car they sell. Cadillac has been making losses since 2007.
The American tax payer has been forced to bail out Cadillac. More Americans are buying Japanese cars because they are more fuel efficient.
BMW has not asked for any bailout money.
