  • Did you go to full sail?

  • @1916KiD4 No. I went to the real life music production school lol.

  • Problem of modern youtube teachers is they show you how program works, not how it is used.

  • @Tester2244 once you know how something works its up to you to be creative with the tools.

  • @mrmigtight Thank you

  • Where can I buy UltraBeat? THANKS!

  • @SebastianNygaard It is part of the Logic software

  • How to load a blank Ultrabeat layout? Each time I load the instrument, it's full of unwanted sounds!

    Thanks!

  • @SimmiZ to create a blank layout in ultrabeat, click on the "pattern" tab near the bottom left of the window and select any pattern with a zero in it. ie (B 0)

  • who do you produce or do you just for funzies :P

  • @FreestyleLilWayne Grammy nominated 2011. We produce and remix everyone. Check the Discography page at my site mrmigmusic com

  • You can drop samples right into UB from your Browser. You don't have to put them into the Library/Logic area. Good tutorial.

  • ...any help on my problem below is hugely appreciated. And thank you Mr. Mig for your incredibly helpful vid's. YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!!

    :-)

  • Problem: When i drag a sample to the waveform section, I doesn´t play it when I hit the corresponding key along the left side of the Ultrabeat window. It only plays the sine tone that was there in the first place. I can see, however, in the waveform section, that UB actually loads the new sample when I drag it there - but it plays the old default sine wave.....What to do?? (I have tried placing my samples different places on my - also the one you suggest, but i doesn't make a diff.)I use logic8

  • i like how you can export MIDI from Ultrabeat, but can you import that MIDI into other drum machines? I've been trying to get my Ultrabeat stuff played in ReDrum easily but I can't find a solution.

  • what happens if i go to my Logic folder and there is no Ultrabeat folder within? i dont even have any original drum kits.

  • yo, logic 7 is different because alot of the steps you mention are not showing up on my setup.

  • Im buying either Logic Studio 9 or Cubase + VST's....

Do you know if Logic Studio accepts samples from anywhere, or select sample VST software?

  • how do you get an acoustic drum kit sound out of this thing?

  • thanks for the Video, nice!

  • your shit is clipping by the way.

  • @MisterBrownable your retarded is commenting

  • This guide must be for Logic 8. In Logic 9, at least in Express 9, its in HD> Library, Application Support, Logic, Plug-in Settings. Still this tut is very helpful & thanks for posting.

  • You have done some really good Logic Tutorials! Thank you !

  • I made a folder for a kit named it Metal Kit, dragged my samples I had in the folder and dragged the folder to the ultrabeats samples and it wont show up on ultrabeats when i try to load the kit in logic. what did I do wrong?

  • Nice video; The aux trick worked a treat (even though I'm using Logic 7, the principle was the same). One thing though; whilst I can play the samples manually via MIDI keyboard, I cannot seem to get the patterns to trigger. When the sequencer is running, as soon as I hit pattern mode button, the sequencer plays to the end of the bar and just stops (regardless if in Toggle on step 1 or one shot trig mode etc.). Am I missing something here?!

  • How to I get My key board to trigger Ultrabeat?

  • ahhhh HELP!!!

  • hey reduce the gain on the master ad limiter so it doesn't sound so distorted

  • This wont work for me. I drag the samples over and it appears in the little sample box but still plays the pre assigned sample

  • try opening the 'drag and drop samples' option from the drop down list in ultrabeat - it should work fine now.

  • @holmes194

    Hey Holmes,

I have exactly the same problem. Did you figure it out yet? I see djRiisu's suggestion above, but I can't find that drop down list in UB. Cheers...

  • Thanks for this. It helped me do things

  • what software are you using to record this?

  • he just said Logic's Ultrabeat. Logic obviously.

  • no.... im not that stupid...Im asking about the software to record this video! like, camstudio? or what?

  • Screenflow

  • Hey mrmigtight, what do you use to create your video tutorials? I wouldn't mind giving it a go sometime. Thanks again for the videos. I've learned some cool stuff from your contribution.

  • Thx for the post. Just want to share this:

I just used ultrabeat for the first time last night. no need to move your samples around. you can load your sample from where ever u have them stored. just switch the setting on the bottom left red section from phase osc to sample, click the arrow above the waveform display, choose 'Load Sample'. Navigate to your samples folder and choose you sample. do this for each key along the left side of the synth to load all of your samples. thanks again.

  • hi potissimus

i tried ur way but after i load the sample, i then hit the corresponding key and find the sample hasn't changed. any ideas?

    thanks, T

  • Hey Tim. Here's a full step by step. I was going from memory and left stuff out.

    1) Bring up Ultrabeat, click to select the key you want to map to your sample to

    2) Right click the key and choose 'Init', then 'Sample'

    3) Go to bottom left section (OSC2) and click the sample button

    4) Click the down pointing arrow and choose 'load sample'

    5) Navigate to your sample of choice and select it

    6) Turn on the power button for OSC2

    7) Now trigger that key. Should fire your sample

    That work for ya?

  • easier....drag your sample in the box at the bottom on the left side.

  • tooo confusing. I'm still making my beats with garageband and I'd like to use logic but it seems to complicated

  • Thanks Mr Mig for all your tutorials. They really help and it's all coming together sweetly thanks to people like you that put time into teaching.

  • I followed your video to see if I have the Ultrabeat samples, but for some reason they are not there. I checked after application support but I just see Garageband and few other files. Maybe they were never installed

    Great videos for Logic pro!

  • Hi, Looks like I am in the same situation like the other person. I have Logic Pro and can't seem to find Ultrabeat. I checked (goto ur mixer look for i/o click on the top box underneathe it, go down to the last one on the list, then it'llbethere) but I checked everywhere and could not find it. Does Logic pro come with ultrabeat!

    Thanks,

  • it defiantly comes with it. make sure your on a software instrument not a real instrument track

  • How do you find and open ultrabeat?

  • To open ultrabeat, on the far left of the screen right above

Out 1-2 and right below I/O in the click in that blank space and you'll see Ultrabeat along with other plugins.

    Hope that helped! =]

  • you create the samples

  • i cant find that folder for nothing

  • sounds stupid but how do you even get ultrabeat up. is there a drop down menu for it anywhere or something?

    i have logic express 8.

  • goto ur mixer look for i/o click on the top box underneathe it, go down to the last one on the list, then it'llbethere

  • Thanks so much for posting these ultrabeat tutorials! Ultrabeat is so overwhelming when you first open it up and these videos helped me get some of the basics. Thanks a bunch!

  • Nice! One question though -- How do you make a sample play via single shot?? So if I load a long sample in Ultrabeat, and put a midi note in piano roll window, I want it to trigger the sample but I want it to automatically play the whole sample length (without stretching the midi note). Help! Thanks

  • Greats tutorials!

Mr Mig, Is it really necessary put my samples in the Ultrabeat samples directory?

They are in a external hard disk.

Other doubt: When I drag the samples to the ultrabeat, the sound is different than the original file...what could be?

    Thank you very much!

  • thanks for the vid. very helpful.

    that beat is slamming.

logic rules!!!! if you don't know ask somebody.

this software brings the creativity out of you.

  • Dear mister Mig,

thank you for this video, but when I drag my sample in dat thing you drag it in, it remains the same sound! Not the one I dragged in. please reply!

    Respect

    T

  • Mr. Mig : Thank you for taking the time to put this online. I'm just starting out with Logic Studio, and these videos have actually inspired & educated me quite a bit. :)

  • sorry to be a pain with all these questions, but might logic 7's ultra beat be a little different to logic 8's? in regards to adding my own samples, i'm having a little trouble...

  • I dont believe so. You should try either dragging the sample to the piano roll on the left or to the waveform section like I did in the video.

  • hey mr mig, what do you know about logic academic? is it true i cant upgrade it? what about plug ins. not that i need them, but i have logic 7... and its a damn academic version and im stressing.

  • Thanks Masevoe. Ive used all the software instruments out there...Battery is nice..but I'm having a blast with Ultra Beat.

  • Nice 1

    I was thinking about up-grading Battery 2 to 3 becasue Battery 2 does'nt work with Logic 7

    but i think i dont need to,since i have

    Ultra Beat.

Thanks again for the quick info Mr. Mig !
