Thank you Michael, you inspired me to take the time to do this cover. I learned the song in the night , after not being able to watch your vid . At first I wanted to do just an acoustic guitar version. At the end I decided on this version, but have also created another sort of gospel version, that is much slower, and maybe suits my voice better, but my cat seems to like this better then the gospel version. You are such a uniquely Germanic interpreter of songs such as these. I like how you choose to focus on the meaning of the lyrics more than just copying the melody line of Petty's original - it makes it that much sweeter sounding when the bridge comes in as I hoped.
