Actually, the Soviets gave them their first nuclear reactor, and the technology was 100% created by American and European scientists. I disagree. Korean can be a very beautiful language. The announcer here is speaking the North Korean dialect with an announcer's "heavy" way of oratory. The result is that the language sounds harsh and exaggerated.
Just as there are different dialects of English that can either sound very cultured and fluid or grating and annoying, so there are different dialects within the Korean language as well.
When I watched my first Korean movie I was in love with the language.. but now the more I hear it the more I hate it. This is just my opinion but to me it is very repetative and especially the women do this loud accentuating thing (just like Cantonese) which in my culture is frowned upon. The most beautiful language is still French, everything else on earth including my native tongue as well as english, is annoying as hell after 1 week.
well said, judging the entire Korean Tongue by this diatribe would be like judge Shakespeare or Donne after hearing Bill O'Rielly. i dont know, but I imagine that most languages are capable of being profoundly beautiful when spoken or written well, and conversely, irritating and ugly when spoken and written poorly.
