Thank you for this song so eloquently laid to music to continue to remind us where we came from and to be a part of history in the future for our children so they too can learn what the past was like, in case, God forbid our coal mining be taken away from us. I personally don't look for that to happen, but if our current administration has their way it seems it is a possibility. :-( Thank you again for this Beautiful song, God's Blessings to you!

I wasn't born when my father was a coal miner but when I was old enough to understand the fact that I was "Born a coal miners daughter" it was a title I wore with much pride. I understood and respected the level of danger that our miners went into every morning, noon, and night in order to provide a living for their families and to keep the lights on for our great Mountain State, as beautiful and majestic as she is.

i have never really thought of the miners who get the coal and after reading the comments above ^ i realize that there are people down there trying to earn a living, and the great dangers that they come close to, and that they all have worried families at home...well to the miners- good luck, and may god be with you :3

@TheCh4rd Thanks for the comment, Your right, People who arent involved with the mining industry or havnt lived the life of a miner or their familys sometimes dont realize what the chance they take every day. They so much deserve to be recognized for what they do everyday. Thanks for making this song and video.Me and my momma sat and listened to this and cried .My daddy is a coal miner and its everyday we thank him for going down in that dark damp hole to make a living for us . Coalminers are a special breed of men and God Bless them all. We pray for all the coalminers families that lost their own.

AMEN!! i live in wv and thanks for this song it really means alot. im bout to be a miner but i dont have any family underground, i only have family on the strip jobs, but not as dangerous as underground, but im a BIG TIME MINER FAN, I SUPPORT THE HARD WORKIN MINERS, THEY GO TO WORK EVERDAY AND BUST THEIR ASS TO MAKE A LIVIN AND TO SUPPORT THEIR CHILDREN, AND WIFES, IM ALL FOR IT, r.i.p fallen miner you all are loved and missed by many..... jeremy

My dad and both of my pawpaws were proud WV coal miners I never knew either of my pawpaws but Im thankfull everyday that my dad made it out of the mines and now is sitting in the livingroom

I just want to say..this is a lovely song. You may have heard here in New Zealand, we have just lost 29 of our boys in the Pike River Coal Mine. They are still underground as it's to unsafe to get them out. We had hope of rescue but the shaft has since exploded twice more. Our whole country is in mourning for our lads. We are devastated for their families and our lost countrymen...NZ is a small country and we are all one big family.

thats a good song man i really enjoyed it. my dad was a miner here in west virginia for 30 years and my grandpa was a miner for a little longer and so was his dad i come from a family of miners and plan on bein a miner myself and im sorry to hear your loss but i know and you know as well as i do he is proud of you and is in a much better place now enjoying this song as much as me and anybody else listening to this! take care man mike

Love the song!!! I mine in IN underground love it and will do it till the day I die. Hardest work I have ever done in my life but pays the bills. I will say its not for everybody. Its a rare breed of people that can do this work and glade to be part of that breed.

And much respect to the coal miners and there families that have died.

As a West Virginian who got out of the coal mines in 1979 and moved to Nashville I just wanted to say it makes me proud to hear this song again and proud to have been the one to produce it for you here in Nashville.
