  • TINA ARENA is the BEST. No doubt about that.

  • deni hines sucks, one hit wonder. her mum did alot more

  • No-one's mentioned Wendy Matthews...who's actually Canadian, but I'm sure we've claimed her

  • Replace Deni with Marcia.

  • Delta's my favourite singer I've loved her music for the last eight years and I'm not going to stop any time soon.

  • im glad you added Katie Noonan. I think the best song ive heard her sing is probably "breathe in now" when she sung it with George. If anyone wants to hear this woman sing, that is the song i suggest you google! :-)

And I agree, although Kylie is a big hit overseas she doesnt make the cut in this bevy of vocal artists. Shes more hot pants and popularity than actual vocal range-talent lol

  • Some great choices - Tina & Vanessa are my favourites :) It's great your list has attracted so many views and showcased such great Aussie talent. Thanks for sharing :)

  • Personally I think this video solves the whole issue.

Vanessa Amorosi - Perfect (Live @ Olivia Appeal)

Although the more I hear Delta, the more I like her.

  • LOL Heni Hines....even her mother can outsing her in her old age. No variety in your list whatsoever. They're basically all belters except for Deni (not even in my top 100)

  • @ph1lstar If you don't like my list, make you're own. I see you people winging but none of you make the effort of making you're own list.

  • @Breniznit no I wasn't whinging I was making an opinion about your choices....big difference sweetheart. Put something that's personal out there, not everyone is going to agree. My top 10 which not everyone will like is 1. ONJ 2. Helen Reddy 3.Vanessa Amorosi 4. Kate Cebrano 5.Renee Geyer 6. Tina Arena 7. Sarah Blasko 8.Katie Noonan 9. Deborah Conway 10. Delta Goodren.

  • i dunno anything about australian female singers, but i know this...

    no kylie minogue??

  • @ONNIHOLTTA She isn't as good a vocalist as these girls ,it's why she was not added. I do love Kylie though

  • Great Video i had not heard of several artists here. Vanessa is my favorite out of this group her voice is amazing. Gabriella, Delta, and Tina had the opportunity to be succesful in the U.S. but havent really taken off unfortunately. O and I was gonna say something bout Jessica too but i saw your comment lol

  • @musicguy713 Tina is the only one out of the 3 who didn't go out of her way too crack the market. People from here generally try too crack Europe first. Olivia Newton John, Savage Garden,INSX,Jet,ACDC were notables who were a success in the US though.

  • the first person was the best

  • Check out Vanessa Amorosi doing Janis Joplin

Piece Of My Heart - Vanessa Amorosi

  • This was compiled 2 years ago, so I think the order has changed with time.

    1. Vanessa Amorosi

    2 .Vanessa Amorosi

    3.Vanessa Amorosi

    4. Delta Goodrem

    5. Tina Arena

    6. Vanessa Amorosi

  • @whipthedog LOL Yes Vanessa is definitely the best however if i was too do the list again i would go :

    1.Vanessa Amorosi

    2.Kate Miller Heidki

    3.Delta Goodrem

    4.Tina Arena

    5.Cassie Davis

    6.Deni Hines

Kate Is very very good, she isn't far behind Vanessa in vocal range :D

  • "you kidding, I have close to 100 Australian favourite's

  • @joshwelljonesfirst Can you fit you're hundred favorite singer's into 5 mins of video?

  • Why is everyone forgetting Missy Higgins??

  • @aloves2dance Maybe due to her accent ruining her possibly beautiful vocals.

  • @MeliKProductions @aloves2dance I think Missy is one of Australia's best songwriters but not really when it comes too singing.

  • @MeliKProductions although i too do not think missy has a particularly powerful voice, i admire missy higgins for not disguising her Australian accent as so many do. Its quite insulting that someone would say that an Aussie accent ruins otherwise "beautiful vocals" I think that when a person sings with the voice they truly have, its more beautiful than covering it up with some stupid put-on accent. Would you rather her sound like a "refined" englishman or a "cool" african american or something?

  • @bubblyblossom1 Actually, singing with an accent does ruin it.

You either sing without putting on any voice (including accent), or you are causing damage to your vocal chords when you "sing".

Missy H tends to be more straining then singing.

You don't need our accent to be able to sing beautifully. When (and if) I sing, I don't have a fake accent, because I want to be able to keep the speaking voice I have now, when I'm, like, 55.

  • @MeliKProductions i'm very interested to know where you were informed that singing with your natural accent is damaging, as I find that hard to believe (I am not saying you are wrong,) and am curious. The world has been singing long before the USA existed, and I assume they sang without an American accent, and also that it sounded beautiful, otherwise they wouldn't sing

  • @InvaderVox @bubblyblossom1 It's the fact that she's not really singing.

If you are not truly singing with your diaphragm, you are doing damage to your vocals. It's a fact.

By the way, saying that I'm insulting someone from my own country with my own accent means you did not fully read and/or understand what I typed previosly at all.

  • @MeliKProductions Scuse me mr, I beg to dissagree. I personally think Missy's accent is natural and there for would not be distructive at all. If you were suggesting that putting ON an accent is distructive then I would agree however.. An Australian does not generally put on an Australian accent.

  • @Breniznit

    A. Get my gender right.

    B. Stop trying to disagree with a plain-as-day fact.

    C. You're the one who did this video, you did not include her because of her lack of vocal ability. Period.

An Australian singing is a singer. Missy does not sing properly.

If nobody can see that then it is their loss when her vocals are so distorted that they have to auto-tune it on albums in the future.

  • @MeliKProductions How does her accent ruin her beautiful vocals? If anything it makes her vocals more beautiful as there is an honesty in singing with your true accent.

  • @ecermusic Have you not read my previous comments?

Anyone who sings with an accent is putting it on.

Less emotion than real singing, and less of a voice later in life.

    It is just the facts.

  • @MeliKProductions Then what do you think of Australian singers who sing with American pronunciation? How is that any different to Missy's style of singing?

  • @ecermusic Anyone singing with any accent is damaging their vocals.

Or does that not sink into your heads?

Please stop bringing up old arguments that you know you cannot win, and move on.

  • Thanx for posting this. i am actually aware of these Aussie female artist as i have cds of every one of them. We (Australia) have some really great talent. ESPECIALLY FEMALE. who need more exposure!

  • Great List. My list is almost identical. I'm so pleased you selected Abby Dobson and Deni Hines and Tina. I'd like to add Danielle Gaha, Renee Geyer and Jessica Mauboy

  • @BEYONDTHEPALE1 I am doing a new one soon,will message you when it's done :D

  • DELTA GOODREM ALL THE WAY

  • No comparision Tina is by far the best, She hasn't got the range of Delta or Vanessa, but her Strength is out of this world, aswell as her musicianship, She was the original aswell,

  • Tina and Delta are my favorite! But the others I didn't even know. Thanks to share anyway!

  • Tina and Delta are my favorite! But the others I didn't even know. Thanks to share anyway!

  • sia furler is one of my favourites...my absolute australian singer is delta goodrem :) I LOVE HERRR (:

  • katie noonan is the best singer in aus no doubt

  • each one have his own taste.. well, there's no problem ok?

  • ^^'... the best is holly valance... poor list.

  • @takumaJaco It's fine too state your opinion but quite frankly being rude and saying my list is poor is just rude. Holly Valance isn't in the same league as Vanessa,Delta or Tina, they each have at least 2 octaves more then her. But really if my list is as poor as you say it is, please don't bother returning to it

  • Gooooo Aussies!!!!!! Yeah, nice, nice!!!!

  • kate noonan, sia furler and megan washington

  • wheres sarah blasko, megan washington, claire bowditch.. most of those havent released a song in decades.

  • @sheikpunani

Megan Washington has a spectacular voice. She's just not that showy about it in her music, it's more understated and beautiful rather than holy hell look how high I can get lol. I love her. But all of these women are very obviously talented also.

  • I think Delta is awesome, She once came into my work... she was a lovely person too!

  • Vanessa Amorosi is CLEARLY thee best female Artist to ever come out of OZ! This post is coming from Ontario, Canada!

  • Delta Goodrem wins this hands down. Her voice is so technical brilliant and beautiful, she is even one of the greatest in the world, there are only a view female singers who are really this great as a live performer with a unbelievable voice. Delta Goodrem, Lucie Silvas and Christina Aguilera are 3 of them!

  • I knew of Tina and Delta but not the other four girls. They all still have a ways to go to compare with Olivia and Kylie.

  • o_0.. This is Australia's finest female singers, not based on popularity but on skill.

Kylie has nothing on any of them vocally.

  • @SunnyKid975 LOL Kylie? Olivia? these 2 where at the right place at the right time.. 1970's 1980's... nobody knew where australia was (or is still) so to make the world aware.. Olivia went to the US in the 80's and Kylie to the UK in the 90's.. Delta... talent katie ... talent tina ... talent want me to list more? marina prior missy higgins.. LOL kylie... LOL olivia...
  • Gabriella Cilmi. her vocals are faboules

  • I do Love Gabriella actually :)

  • I think they're all really good choices, but maybe Kate Miller-Heidke and Jessica Mauboy can be added.

  • Delta sounds like Lara Fabian voice

  • Why do the popup balloons disappear so quickly?

  • Hannah? Sorry i don't know who she is, give me a link and i will take a look.

  • @Breniznit

who do u think is better out of Cassie Davis and Vanessa Amorosi. they sound so similar

  • Well i don't know Cassie all that well but i would say Vanessa has more vocal range, there aren't many woman worldwide that can sing as well as Vanessa can.

Ps.deleted that idiot that was on my vid before, did not realise he was posting on here lol.

  • danni has had 12 number one dance singles, giving her the reputation of queen of clubs, kyle has had 7 number ones in the uk, i dont no how many shes had in australia, so a think they can sing

  • You've got nice vids...

  • thanks

  • While other singers are good, Vanessa can come 2nd to Tina Arena.

Tina Arena by far has the greatest vocal quality and widest range. Not to mention her success internationally has been there compared to these other artists.

  • I don't really agree with the range thing, Vanessa has the biggest range here easily , 3 octaves in chest alone without counting her head voice and whistle registry.Tina can probably belt notes to a5/b5 but Vanessa is one of a few none 'Opera' genre woman able to belt c6.But obviously Tina has payed her dues and deserves the money she makes and respect for accomplishing so much and being a veteran.

  • This was a great idea :)

Im Australian, and appreciate this :)

    Wheres Vanessa Amorosi?!

  • Vanessa is at about 4:14 lol and thanks, yeah i thought it was a good idea also,Im from Brisbane so yes i am Aussy too

  • oo haha sorry!

(i didnt watch all the video, but dont tell anyone :) )

  • Where's Kylie Minogue??

    & Dannii??

    ...

Delta Goodrem is ALsO aMAziNG =)...

    ...

    I Like Natalie Bassingthwaighte =)

i'm from Mexico i don't know too much abour her...

can u tell me what does people says about NatBass in Australia?? what do u know about that?

    plz...

    XoxO

  • Well i didn't add Kylie and Danni to this one Because like Helen Reddy, they really aren't as vocally gifted as these girls.I am a fan of both of them though.Natalie Bass can be very good though depending on the song. Not much is really said about Natalie that i have noticed,She works on 'so you think you can dance Australia' but i haven't really payed attention to her since she left 'Rogue Traders' because i prefer the bands music to the stuff she has out now :)

  • I did put Kylie in my newest video though, which is the response to this one :D

  • Interesting that the first Australian female to have a number one record in America, the first to get a Star on the Walk of Fame and the first to have a TV show in America was overlooked... How could you forget the Queen of 70's Pop herself, Ms. Helen Reddy!

  • Well, i am still working on another one with older singers in it but then again Helen doesn't have enough range to challenge any of these woman, nor is she still recording.

Helen is ok though i may add her to my video of influential female artists when i have time.

  • Well, I have dedicated a large part of my channel to Helen Reddy so I would invite you to tune in. You really need to listen to Helen before you say she doesn't (or didn't) have enough range.

  • She doesn't have the range behind her that these woman have.Janis Joplin had the power and the octaves to compete but she isn't Australian.Anyway this is about Australia's finest female singers not so much the best sellers.Of course if you want a real comparison,Vanessa Amorosi sang I am woman at Helens induction into the aria hall of fame and Helen was in awe of Vanessa's talent.

  • Helen in her prime was an amazing singer. I'm not much into singers who scream, riff, hit whistle notes, etc. I am into a pure angelic sound that only certain female singers in history have had. Helen's voice was an amazing instrument. And since she was the trailblazer for Australian female vocalists, you should be very proud of the Queen.

  • Delta Goodrem tops the list for me.

  • Delta Goodrem tops the list for me.

  • 1.Tina Arena

    2.Vanessa Amorosi

    3.Delta Goodrem

    4.Deni Hines

    5.Abbey Dobson

    5.Katie Noonan

Cant go any better than that

  • Well i could have gone a bit better.I am regretting not adding Jessica Mauboy, did you see last nights performance of 'Time after time' on the Bushfire relief show. She was incredible and out did Jimmy Barnes's performance like it was nothing at all.

  • yeah i think jessica mauboys a new comer for for the best vocalist list!! love her

  • love delta

  • TINA ARENA is on the TOP of the food CHAIN!!!

Vocally, stage presence, and music quality, no one gets closer to Tina Arena.

  • vanessa, delta and tina are my faves...

but im more attracted to powerhouse vocalists and that lead to ms. vanessa amorosi...

hope to see vanessa do more pop and powerballads

here's a five my friend breznit
