I'm not sure why everyone is on BJ's case. This is just typical pre-fight hype. GSP is better than the smaller BJ Penn. In the same way, I think Silva would beat the smaller GSP. Climbing up in weight is tough.

they're on BJ's case because all BJ talks about is how awesome he is, and then he goes as far as to say he will fight a deathmatch, and ironically quits before the fight is even over. not even in the middle of the fight, he gets a whole minute to breathe and quits which is virtually unheard of.

Amen, brother. The only time I saw him finish anyone on the ground was in his first fight against Matt Hughes, where he stunned Matt with a punch first. He can neutralize you on the ground or maybe submit a weak guy, but not a world class grappler...for that he needs to catch them with a knee/punch/elbow. I ued to be a big BJ fan before this, but I am so disappointed by his actions and words. Total lack of class on his part and he isn't fooling anyone with the sense to realize the truth

1) After 2 rounds of exertion, yes, somepeople's backs ARE that slick, 2) Georges' upper back is a LOT wider than most guys BJ has fought, 3) GSP is much stronger than most guys BJ fought (including Matt Hughes (look at how GSP dominated Hughes physically in their fights, especially the last 2. BJ got beaten, badly, by a superior fighter/athlete who has improved far more than BJ has since their first fight 3+ years ago. Deal with it

The NSAC didn't feel the same way. They acknowledged that some vaseline was transferred, but that ultimately: the amount was minimal (within their rules); it was not intentional; it was cleaned off per NSAC rules by NSAC people; and that it had no effect on the outcome of the fight. They had no plan to take any action against GSP, Nurse, Jackson, or any of their camp aside from a possible warning until BJ and his camp took legal action, as is their right. Bottom line, nothing wrong took place

Until anyone shows me video of him applying vaseline or some other illegal substance to himself, or instructing his camp to do so, I think I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. He always comports himself with class, is respectful to his opponents, and is constantly improving. Was there vaseline on him? Yes...but was it excessive? NSAC didn't think so, and they didn't think it affected the outcome...and neither did Dana White (who I cannot stand). BJ got beaten, badly, by a better fighter
