  • Great looking fly after watching your video i sat down and made up a few. Can't wait to try them out.

  • do you expect this would work well for big rainbow trout?

  • Clousers have weighted eyes that make them swim upside down, hook up. No way related in tying (no eyes) or fishing, as these will float on the surface at times if backcast a few times, until stripped. Clousers are made to sink FAST.

  • these flies remind me of clouser minnows...i never tried these kind...hopefully they will work for me where i live because i tied a bunch of the 5/5 tight lines : )

  • Great video... what's that trick you did at 3:06 to tie & knot after you bulked the head? You double wrap with your right hand and use the line held in your left to knot...how?

  • @CaptnCooter it is called a whip finish

  • The one above works great. Easy and simple to tie.

  • hey i am an a 14 year old angler and i make my own flies i fish a small river in NC Henry R. it has catfish carp bremn smallmouth bass and it is trout water could u please send me a video of good trout flies that are for small trout and bremn something easy but very effective thanks

  • do you mean bream (gill) (bluegill) (those fun lil fish)?

cause ill upload a video that was (is very effective for me)

im 15 and live in cary

    we oughta fish some time!!

anyway ill get back to you on that

  • easy answer to that, learn to tie the adams parachute its all youll need for the trout and youll have as many as you want if you tie them, good luck fishing

  • what's the song that is playing in the background?

  • FIRST time I heard of bass taking them, but hey, I said they'd work for about anything, didn't I???

  • wow thanks man! tied a dozen of these in several different colors and caught 2 crappie and 5 small mouth bass here in illinois!

  • Add Kystal Flash, Mono Flash, or Midge Flash would gove one a completely different fly pattern.

The secret to these are the fluid pulsations and movement of the marabou fibers caused by currents or the hook making it sink and that makes it look alive!!!

    The secret to this

  • Would Adding Krystal Flash Help This Fly Maybe? JW

  • Go through my videos and pick any for trout, as they work all over the world. Trout want fish if they can get them, as they make a big meal.

  • hey i am a 13 yr. old angler and i just got into fly tying and these videos really helped could u send me some videos of streamers for trout and if u have ever fished in cherokee NC what works good there could u send me so videos of flies that work good there? i would appreciate it thanks!

  • Realistic as to what? These videos are to OPEN YOUR creative processes.

There are many books and videos on imitations, this is an attractor pattern, represents everything and nothing. Try googling up what you want.

    Tim

  • do you have a more realistic looking bluegill fly? this one is cool though..

  • Never used egg pattern in lakes, but peopleuse the cured eggs all the time in flakes and trout streams, so why not. You taught even my wacky self to think out the box with that one, Dude!

    Tim

  • this guy makes the best flies ever!! The one with the salmon eggs is the best for lakes ever!!!

  • Don't tell anyone, but depending on the size and color, they work on almost anything, due to the fantstic movement and undulations of the SPARSELY tied marabou. Even for saltwater for bonefish, speckled trout, redfish on up to smaller stripers in the backwaters.

  • I made a few of these and tested different colours out. I used a white and red one and was catching british chub on it all day. Great!! thanks

  • Thanks

  • They will likely work. Years ago I used a bright yellow (oversised size 2) Knudson Cutthroat Flies for big browns on the White River. You never know what pattern will actually work if you don't try it, hey?

  • Great! I'm trying these on our smaller british sea trout :)
