These aren't even the saddest songs in the last 15 years, let alone of all time. I suggest escaping from your extremely limited temporal and stylistic range if you want to write an "ever" list.

A good contender for saddest song of all time might be Samuel Barber's "Adagio for Strings." Ryan Adam's original version of "When the Stars Go Blue" is much more somber than any of the songs on this list and Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over" would be an example of a sad-core song from the 80s.
