This video being the only video that points out why underage players with headsets shouldn't be playing this game. Too much interference and bad for themselves as it teaches oddly different perspectives to innocent minds.
Well, how do you know that she is a hooker? (2:30) Because she is sucking on a lollipop? Can't a woman do that without being a victim of stereotype? Which is ironic considering the message you are trying to convey.
What was written in the "Michael Graves" outdoor poster at 10:39 ? I recall reading somewhere that he, the former frontman from the band "misfits" is somewhat of a conservative. Just wanted to know if that had something to do Graves political views. Any input is greatly appreciated! :)
Rockstar is good at making social commentaries. GTA3, Vice City, San Andreas, Red Dead Redemption, even L.A. Noire, which they only published. You can find good analyses of these.

is this vid real or joke ?
anyway gta4 sucked to realistic i couldnt even finish 1 mission cuz it boring gtasa wayyy better. and sr3 is even beter cuz its got the dildos giant ones lmao r* went to realistic and failed
id have to disagree with the ideas that this game is good because it helps promote multiculturalism and helps the homosexual agenda mostly because the game while it may have a lot of character development for a game, it has almost none for other mediums of story telling, so while it might be on the right track i feel like the problem that the characters are for the most part simply there to provide missions, their characters are built around that instead of the other way around
Incredible video. I got the point. I love GTA games, as anyone can see by my random GTA IV videos.
Almost all the characters in GTA games since Vice City I remember well because Rockstar is all about the depth of each character, just brilliant.
I remember Bernie Crane, I'll always think of when he grab's Niko's face "Oh my god, you were the lucky one. You could slice cheese on those puppies. I must be the only Slav without cheekbones" =P
I get nostalgia with the driving, I love the driving.
Definitely my favourite GOML so far. Such a fantastic way to look at GTA IV, and how it presents a snapshot of a flawed America in the 2000s, and how it tackles issues like immigration, homosexuality, drug abuse and terrorism paranoia.
It's really made me want to go back and play GTA IV again, but keeping in mind all that you have talked about this video :D
I'm very very VERY happy to see that Get Off My Lawn is not swept under the rug. Yet another great and thought provoking episode. I never looked at GTA4 like this. I thought that the characters and the atmosphere wasn't as well presented in the game as I would expect from Rockstar North. It seems I was wrong. Then again I played it on my PC at 19 frames/sec. Congrats to you Randy, congrats to you!
"Stop looking it as a game" is the worst possible way to begin a rant on why a game is good. It is a game and if you need to see it as something else to find value in it... then it's failed.
@Skullomaniaaaa Didnt you watch the whole video? ;_; i cant belive you would post such a rude comment about such a good rant. And if you have watched his former videos you know that he is very displeased of how a game is looked at from the adult/non-gamers point of view, not how it is looked at from the gamers point of view.
@Tagglink422 How is it rude? It's more a testament to the game itself than his rant, and my point still stands: if you need to look at a game as anything other than a game to see why it's good, it is not a good game. All of his points are absolutely true, but they can all be done with any other form of media.
@Skullomaniaaaa Well, I think saying a rant is failed is rather rude, but i guess thats just me. And i still stand for the fact that most people understand that when he says "Do not look at it as a game" he means not to look at it as a game from how all adults/non-gamers look at it, and which we gamers are effected by. You seem like a sensible person and people like you should understand what he means about "Not looking at it like a game". Im saying: Dont take it so bluntly.
I'm confused about the "white guys" category. You talk about the Italians, the Irish, the Balkan people, and then the white guys as separately? Who are the white guys then?
@mrnicktoyou Well the White Guys are the ones from Western European descent. Obviously Eastern Europeans are white (I am one), but I think it's pretty clear he was talking about the Western Europeans.
@kaostra Also, compared to MOST video games, Bernie is a fairly normal homosexual character. Compare him to the characters from Shadow Hearts: Covenant or TINGLE and you'll see that he's a pretty standard guy.
Also, wasn't Bernie was a soldier with Nico before the events of GTA IV?
Another excellent addition to your stellar GOML series! This series pretty much sums up what I love about ElderGeek. EG doesn't treat their audience like children, rightly so, like other gaming related channels and EG isn't afraid to dabble in grown up conjecture. As someone in their mid-20s who still enjoys a bit of gaming, I wholeheartedly appreciate this. Thank you for not catering to the lowest common denominator.
@tsubodzuka Ya im 18 now and the older i get the more games seem to just be less and less fun everyday. Is it because im getting older? Or are games just not as fun as they use to be?
@halo6534 As you get older you can either fuel your gaming habits or let them wane. I chose the former. Games still remain a great form of entertainment and an excellent way to relieve stress. The only thing that has really changed as I grew older was the time available to indulge my vice. You actually learn to appreciate the time you spend with your favorite titles and enjoy them to the fullest. My advice? Explore different genres and broaden your range of games!
As soon as I saw this, I immediately clicked. I have been waiting for another GOML. It was actually through the first one that I found this channel. You have some amazing points, as demanded from a Get Off My Law.
