I don't get YT speaker reviews that play music. Do people honestly hear any difference? All I can hear are the terrible compression artifacts. :D

Just got myself a set of s730'S after moving from my previous logitec set (Before creative system which is still alive and well and providing some fo the best sound in the house still!)

Simply put, the first thing i noticed about the Edifier was, it doesnt seem as bassy as my logitecs (Im not ramping the edifier up full until i've broken them in), its not loud in the sense i was on about it was BOOMY!

But i'm sat here now understanding what the logitecs were missing, its the fullness of....

The sound, the Edifier is punching out a very tight lower range frequency and with the passive woofer ports, the lower range is both unbelievably clean (Not floppy at all) and providing a very full experience, along with this, the satalites are of a good quality in my oppinion, the two way combo is the best route for audio experience because the individual frequency can be offloaded on both, which imo is ideal for music, i'm already falling in love with this set, reccomend to any1!

I just got the Logitech z906 (the upgrade from the z5500) after auditioning the Edifier s730, and I must say that with its onboard Dolby Digital and DTS decoder, the z906 is much better for movies and gaming (which are what I bought it for), whereas the s730, with its fuller bass and midrange, is the optimum choice for music. And oh yeah, its subwoofer looks much, MUCH sexier than the s906's.

I got and I LOVE my Edifier S550. The bass is GOOD, compared to the Z5500 it's alot better, the bass is Loud and Hard enough, Going further would only be useless unless you like the bass alot but don't want quality. I've heard the Bass of Z5500 and it's harder then the S550 but the quality of all the other sounds are a lot better, but like I said, more bass would be useless... It'd start hurting ya ear or you can't hear what they are saying/singing.

Hello, i want do an ask. Im going to buy the S730, but im not sure if S730 is better than a homecinema HT-DDWG800. Im searching something very loud, with a very strong subwoofer. Both have the same price, What would you choose?. Thank you.

@sergyelen If you're looking to go loud i suggest a pair of PA Speakers with a PA Amplifier as the Multimedia Systems aren't that "abuseable" and not as loud the PAs are.

As for the question,the s730 has a stronger Subwoofer than the Sony and it's very good for its price,but if you want a nice all-in-one 5.1 set the Sony is the way to go for that budget,it has a real AV Receiver and its pros plus moderately good sound.

Out of curiosity, will Edifier release a 5.1 version of the s730? The s730 seems to have a better subwoofer and satellite set than the s550.

Yes i agree with you there, but i really noticed the diffrence when he compared the Bass, that got me extra attention, becasue on the sound i could hear from the video, the Edifier had more fully bass what i could hear, and the Logitec sounded more like forced Bass like strange and more sharper bass/not that fully bass, if i explain my self good there but it would be more noticedeble IRL of course :)
