And there is another book I know God had his active hand in giving it to me. It was a book on hell. I only ever had one dealing with the library in my home town, and it was for a New King James Bible which is in plain English. I think I was only ever in the building 2 times. But when I came home from college one day, The Library called, saying the book....

I only ever had one dealing with the library in my home town, and it was for a New King James Bible which is in plain English. I think I was only ever in the building 2 times. But when I came home from college one day, The Library called, saying the book....

I never got a chance to do it, but I always wanted to go down the library there and question them about it. Find out who came in and said this or who called. Who was the person at the library that talked to them. And if they knew who they were.
I just have this suspicion in my heart, though I don't know, it was a phone call.

Maybe one of those well-read Christians can explain a little problem to me: Remember when those naughty humans started to build some sort of a high rise aimed at the sky, and God had a shit fit, confusing everyone's languages (I suppose up to that point they all spoke the Queen's English or something)? If THAT was such a horrific offense, why didn't God say one word in protest when man landed on the God damn MOON? Could it be, because the entire Bible is a book of man made bullshit?

in the old testament people were under the law. God had strict rules and ordinances. The reason punishment for sin was so servere was to to put fear in people and disourage them from sinning. If sin didn't have consequences and punishment, it would inevitably affect the whole nation as it does today. Sin is destroying people all over the world. It has the same effect today as it did then. The only diffence today is that we are under a new covenant, and not the old.

No, you pray to someone you create to be far more intelligent. Religion blinds people and makes them ignorant. For example, there are tons of facts that lead to the theory of evolution, but most Christians completely blow it off because it's not in a book written over 1000 years ago.
I'll admit, there are MANY Christians who realize the bible is a bit outdated in some parts, but the ones who are don't understand that fact bring them down.
Also, the people discovering the body etc. are everyone.

Ok. There is a difference between "pro-abortion" and "pro-choice". People who are pro-choice are against government intervention in such personal matters. Obama said he trusts women to make "prayerful decisions" when faced with an unwanted pregnancy. He also never said he "approved" of gay marriage but felt everyone should be treated equally. McCain and Bush are "pro-life" but he was willing to continue a war that is killing thousands of children who WERE born and raised by their parents!

I suppose my main reason for being critical of the bible is that the main reason I am usually looked down on as a person is due to a literal interpretation of the bible.
I was raised in it and I am tryig to make it clear that following a 2000 year old fairytale will hurt you and those around you.

Doesn't it depend why the abortion? if a fetus was made from rape or such like I would condone it if the woman doesn't want it...& what do ya do if girls and boys sadly choose to have sex willy nilly and get pregnant do you make them have babys they resent, with no dad...most likely, it's not ideal but sadly that is life. an gay marrage I find it 'weird' but they are coming together in love it's a promise to be faithful...and gay isn't catching.

Once again, for the most part its intact, but there is so much controversy over whether God was talking about all gays or just talking about all people who were promiscuous. There's controversy about whether God deemed even moderate drinking and gambling as a sin or whether he meant to enjoy in moderation but not worship these things. There's debate on whether Psalm 139 is meant to be taken literally or if its just David praising God for making him...

Also, the broad theme of patriarchy in the Bible and some of the things the New Testament says about women's role in society just doesn't make any sense. I wonder if men decided to put that in from the start and the trend just continued or if Eve's original sin condemned the entire gender. I live my life based on these beliefs.

The Great Prophet Muhammad might not have enslaved people, but he beheaded many, he raped boys and possibly even women. And because he loved doing these things, he said that those activities were for Allah's sake -and now muslims today believe the same as Muhammad did.

Muhammad belonged in a mental health institution. But one thing I truly admire about Islam: the Qur'an (because the pages are silky smooth -- BETTER THAN CHARMIN).

Muslim theology, on the otherhand, DOES promote hate and DOES promote violence to those they consider NOT INNOCENT (i.e. those infidels, i.e. those who do not believe or embrace Islam).
