  • hey man! sick playing! is that a real burst or a reissue?

  • damn. Great playing!

  • you got the funk man

  • what jethro tull song is this

  • This is a clone of a clone :-) JTM45 is a clone of the Fender bassman

  • ive been trying to find this video again for 2 years just stumbled across it again..cheers,

  • @fretboarder Cool. ;-)

  • NICE! If you need another amp in the lineup anytime soon, check me out. at unionjackamps

  • @unionjackamps Thanks, but I have way too many already ... ;)

  • The combo sounds great, building my own 2x12 cab for my bad cat. what where the dimensions on the cab you have in the video

    ?

  • Man, that is some extremely sick playing!!

  • not the most precise open G tuning i've ever heard. but yeah cool man.

  • cool

  • wow your a killer rythm player

  • Do you sell those JTM45 heads?

  • Hi,

I used to make and sell these amps..

I use mostly, and only the best hand picked NOS parts, and it's just not financially worth it.

You would be better off buying an original one.

People, all pots are set on 5 and the volume pot is just below 2. The sound comes from the Digital cam. No mic in front of the amp.

I have, again, to say that it's NOT ME playing! It's my old friend Jean-Marc Benais. He "invented" that playing style over 38 years ago. He' s not copying anybody.

    Cheers

  • @SteveAaron i have again to say that it sound awesome!! and your clone look beautiful too, you did a great job!

  • lol your a rythme machine ! very good !

  • who made your jtm45 clone - it looks/sounds beautiful!

  • I did. Thanks

  • Love the playing and the tone!

    Keep on rocking!

  • Thanks!

  • at least you play that guitar and dont let it hang on a wall

  • Nice hands! Reminds me a lot Scott Mishoe!

Any book to suggest to play like that?

    Keep on.

  • Thanks for him. It's a friend playing, not me.

No, no books I know of...

  • original 59 les paul?? cheers..

  • Yes. ;-)

  • very good must be good owning a peice of history like that and getting to play it..how long have you owned it..cheers.

  • You´ve got a mean right hand man, great palying!! Also great sounding amp, have you ever played on a JPM 1986? The circuit has many similarities with the JTM45 and I´m triying to decide wich one to build.

  • It depends. They both have their own distinctive sound...

I have them both (originals) and like them as much. Hard to tell.

What I can tell you is that when I used to build my amps, I mostly used original parts.

  • Came here trying to find out about the amp and...mmm... I wonder what the brand of the clone was....

    Great playing though

  • Thanks. No brand, I built it.

  • Thanks, great job. I want a JCM 900 clone, any help where I could find the parts? Is it hard to build?

  • incredible playing

  • What's your clone ? Valve Art ?

  • que amp é esse ? lindo timbre.

  • New Keziah Jones :)

  • love the way u play ...

  • For the love of music, dude, tune that guitar? All that busy playing doesn't mean much if you don't know what "in tune" is!

  • Is it too difficult to recognize and admit his talent ?

  • Is my comment true or false? If false, then I'm wrong. I can listen to about 10 seconds of this without my perfect pitch screaming for mommy!

  • @BluesRocker52 perfect pitch is such bollox, pisses me off when people boast about it! It's a made up load of crap, anyone who's been playing long enough can hear if somethings out of tune...

  • You're right, it sound like boasting. I apologize. I'll just say, I can hear that he is out of tune, as he is on two of his other videos. It doesn't take perfect pitch to hear it, just musicianship.

  • If you can listen to 0:24-0:25 and not cringe from the lack of tuning, then you're a better man than me.

  • @BluesRocker52 my comment wasn't about the tuning (which really isn't a big deall!! and it obviously goes out of tune WHILE he's playing) it was about you pulling out the perfect pitch card, there's no such thing!

  • @BluesRocker52 : out of interest what do you mean by your comment ? Are you saying the les paul guitar detuned itself for a period 1 second and then some how tuned itself back or are u saying he hit a wrong note for that 1 second period ? anyway i pitch deaf anyways so dont mind me.

  • @BluesRocker52

    :)

I was thinking the same thing. Nice playing, but with an out of tune guitar it sounds like ass. Sorry.

  • Obviously he just changed the strings and they are taking some slack fast.

  • Sorry, but at first you should learn to tune your Pauly right!!!

  • Do you really believe he doesn't know how to tune his guitar ? I suppose he's in his trip, a little absent minded and enjoying.

  • Holy crap! That was awesome, class playing

  • real 59' burst????!!!

  • which clone is it? which maker?

for a les paul it sounds great. not muffled like most of the time

  • very nice

  • that was....amazing, were you a funk bassist in another life?

  • awesome playing! where did you get the "coffin logo"???

  • You got it, don't know what it is, but u got it.

  • Comment removed

  • That was a great original approach to guitar I never expected from this video. 5 Stars which I dont give out freely.

  • you should be a funk bassist.

  • I like this playing. It's a refreshing change from the usual clichés.

  • Like it.

Ignore the sour-grape brigade, innovation scares 'em.

  • tuners are cheap!!!! way cheaper than a video camera. and it sounds like dave matthews on an electric

  • Soul isn't always an old blues guitarist making orgasmic facial expressions on every bend, it's whatever is kin to your own soul.

  • this guy does not look like a good guitar player but well, he's really good! You can't tell the book by the cover. i guess that's true.

  • i really like it

  • Awesome!!

I dont care about bad tunning :)

  • Bravo! I enjoy hearing someone playing clean, rhythmic chops on a Marshall, no less. Refreshing change of pace from the usual blokes blasting away.

  • please tune up . great playing

  • Awesome playing, would love to hear some drive

  • Awesome playing and tone Steve!

    What are your influences?

Your technique is pretty similar to funky bass!

  • different but vey cool!

  • VERY nice! Wish there was a close up of your fingers.

  • good playin, bluesrocker is full of shit ... I don't see his great videos ... he obviously sucks ass. You can play, period.

  • Pudsy440,

With all due respect, of which you deserve none, I just got back from performing in front of 1,200 people tonight. 3,000 tomorrow. How many concerts have you done lately? I don't spend my time doing videos for people...I perform for them. I re-read my post and I thought I was being gracious.

  • Oh you're a star?! You perform for people!! wow! Oh excuse me!! I'm impressed now and tongue tied. You're the best, how could I ever have known... hahaha.

  • Btw, thank you for your comment ... it's clear that you know SOMETHING, but the only message you convey is that your self esteem is improved by dragging others down with your nit picking comments. Thanks for hearing me. Peace, happy holidays.

  • Pudsy440,

I would like to apologize for my immature response to your post and to the guitarist on this post. No musician, no matter how experienced or how different the style deserves my self-serving, critical comment. I was wrong and I apologize to all.

  • Bluesrocker ... no problem ... I think I might have been a bit tipsy with my original comment to you. It was rude of me. It's easy to write stupid things and regret it later ... we all do it ... I do it all the time ... haha! I appreciate your self-awareness and humility. Peace again and happy new year.

  • if your performing for that size of crowd. There must be a video on youtube of your band so..... step up big man.

  • You... Oh, just... you...

  • Great tone, great playing!

  • This is SICK

  • Wow , Your Style Is Great , You Can Tell You Have Been Playing A Long Time =)

  • Reminds me of Regi Wooten's playing.

  • Sounds like Extreme. Very nice job.

  • I like your rythm playing style man!

  • it's funny like it doesn't sound like the 'typical' les paul sound we're used to..

  • This is very good, You have a talent indeed, May I ask for how long you been playing.. . Great sound..

  • I have to say that you are very talented. Super musicianship, top notch tone, too!

  • your rythym is amazing!

  • Remarkable right hand :) Nice, if a bit out of tune somewhere on the B/E strings.

  • And the D also OMG ;-) Maybe Grovers will help...

  • Hot damn, nice work! Every string-slinger I know always forgets about the venerable '45 - quite possibly my favorite amp of all time. How can you go wrong with an amp that drinks in overdrive pedals *and* sounds killer by itself?

  • how much does one of these run for??Any cheaper ones?

  • This is great!!!

  • does it works well with pedals ? (esp. distortion and heavy overdrive pedals )

  • Oooh yeas it does. ;-)

  • thx :D

  • sooo funky!

  • GREAT rhythm playing =) !!

  • that is really impressive, nice playing man

  • You're a better drummer than most guitarists. Funkadelic!

  • the camera lags at the end because it couldn't handle the level of playing anymore

  • Is that a 2x12 cab or a 4x12?

    What speakers were loaded?

    Thanks.

  • did u used to play bass? If not, u should give it a shot man. thats pretty funky

  • That was exactly my first though as well!

  • How much was that amp?

  • I will gladly tell you the price of that amp. But why do you want to know? ;-)

  • holy crap, thats some awesome playing. what is the brand of this amp?

  • Thank you,

This awesome amp is a "Valve Art Technology"

    htp : // w . valveart-tech . com

    ;-)

  • Whats the volume of the jtm to be clean??

    PD: Nice playing!

  • Thanks,

You'll have all the info if you click on "About This Video" on the right hand side of this page. ;-)

    Volume 2

  • ou on peut trouver cet ampli?

  • call me crazy but I think this would sound better on a telecaster. great playing BTW

  • Please put up a video explaining how to do those awesome real fast percussive sounds you make.

  • Awesome playing! I love your style, and I've never heard a LP sound so snappy and clear. I'd love to hear more of your stuff!

  • what the F*ck!!!! that sounds amazing, Very percussive playing : sounds aweosme,.

  • Ca envoie , y'a pas à chier :s Bon jeu main droite ,son exellent , impressionnant à entendre et regarder ;)

  • Merci!!!

  • Wow! Very good tone and playing! :)

    Congrats...

  • Were do you get that blocklogo

  • Fantastic tone and playing. And a wonderful Marshall clone. Where is it from? It sounds and looks perfect to me.

  • Incredible! More, more, more !!!

  • Thank you!! Will add some more soon. ;-)

  • Sick playing and really nice tone! What kind of speakers are in that cab?

  • Thanks.

Speakers are Weber "British Series" 1230-55 AlNiCo.

BTW, the volume is very low on that video. It's around 1 or maybe 2. Check my other videos to hear it cranked with a Telecaster.

  • too cool man.... very nice....

  • Very nice and original!! 5 stars!!

  • that recording does not do that playing or tone justice...nice!

  • You're absolutely right. Just shot with a simple Sony DV Cam. The Amp and the 1959 burst sound way better live !!!

Thank you for the compliment, though.
