I cannot say I am impressed one bit with this Keyboard in comparison to the Motif XS. From what I can see here the Tyros is nothing more than a jukebox rather than a keyboard that one wants to play. Pathetic demonstration I must say. I like playing the keyboard rather than cheating with these samples shoved into it.
@intruder369 I must say I was about to say the same thing but seeing your post, I just decided to like. I own an XS and man, only the next gen XF could be worth the competition.
I've seen a lot of Youtube vids for both TYROS 4 and TYROS 3. So far, I'm not overly impressed by the Tyros 4. I'd buy the III while it's still available. Also, Yamaha's beginning to introduce "Premium packs" for their Tyros line. Wait a moment... Wouldn't I already be spending thousands of dollars for this "professional" keyboard? Why should I start paying for extras that aren't already included? Bad move on Yamaha's part. There's no excuse to leave out sounds, Tyros4 has lotsa memory.
If anyone is interested in trading a Tyros 1, 2, or 3 on a new Tyros 4 let me know... I give generous credit for your used unit towards a new 4. Email me icanmanifest @me.com
@rizkhancnn Im sure TYROS 4 is worth buing if wants to get hi-quality keyboard. These demo things do not represent the product very well, at least i think so, couse of course it must be better than older tyros versions, and those are GOOD!
sorry,to all the instrument players out there but as of 2008(instruments like the Yamaha stagea els produced sounds more efficiently(with a good pianist) than a band, it can replicate any music setting more efficiently(keyword), i am sorry but thats technology.Pc software with controllers are advancing to new levels past even workstations.They are not only more efficient but starting to even sound as good as real musicians, i am sorry people + make sounds and melodies band never could. Live.
controller software, and midi controller keyboard owns these things any-day(now with current rate of software advancement they can give a band trouble lets face it these things can make sounds and beats a band never could, nothing to get sore about). these workstations however are overpriced relics of the past, software synthesizers are far more versatile, easier to transport/cheaper/laptops alot cheaper and lighter/ controllers have more features now than before. these things are out now.
"..I use the keyboard now..why? Because I can do it all myself and not have to sorry about musicians NOT SHOWING UP "
You must be playing with amateurs or people who do NOT respect you - in MY 20+ years of playing I have NEVER had a musician "not show up".
These type of keyboards are mostly for fun and/or for people who play solo gigs in some restaurant or hotel, too cheap to pay for a trio! But, not matter what, there is NO substitute for live, GOOD musicians. Never was, never will be.
I think you are being a little harsh...you are making a gross generalization
regarding anyone who uses this machine.. I played a B3 for 40 years....Jimmy smith, Richard Groove Holmes style and know 4500 standards..I use the keyboard now..why? Because I can do it all myself and not have to sorry about musicians NOT SHOWING UP FOR GIGS It is a preference thing..I guarantee you the tyros 3 or 4 or any arranger will not diminish my ability to play Chopin or Jazz and must musicians would agree
@saintpine Sure, I'll have to log on to the Yamaha website and check them out. The leap from the PSR9000pro to Tyros 1 was massive, and the 2 and 3 have had their merits. All the current promo videos I have seen on T4 concentrait very much on the new human voices which Roland have been doing well for years. I personally dont think it is of great benefit to most players. Hopefully many of the other sounds and styles on T4 have been revamped too.

Not very impressed to be honest.... The voices sound very cheap and lets face it, what professional musician needs such sounds?

@ukorganist
This recording was not well done, there are many good quality videos of the T4 on the Yamaha home page and their youtube channel.

@ukorganist
I have a playlist on my channel.
There is massive increase in quantity of voices and many of the originals have been converted to the Superarticolation 1 and 2 versions.
The new Vocal Harmany voices are quite nice.
I have the Tyros 3, unfortunatly there aren't enough new things to convince me to get myself a Tyros 4.
I do think Tyros is appreciated by one man party bands or home use, professionals make other choices.
saintpine 1 year ago
@ukorganist By voices I mean the "human sounding voices" not the overall instrument voices.

By the way go to the forum section of the UK website, they talk a lot about it.
