The lack of control and BJJ lost Lesnar the fight, you can't just pummel someones head at random and expect to get off when you hit them in the back of the head.

He has fixed the control which is clear from the Herring and Couture fights but neither Herring nor Couture are known for thier BJJ so the matchup with Nog or Mir to consolidate the belt will answer the question if Lesnar has any BJJ now.

Mir had Lesnar in his guard though, and was still fending and pulling down his head ect. The ref normally only stops it if he sees the guy go unconscious, or obviously if he submits to strikes.

i watched the finght many times and and can clearly see mir getting hit in the head several times while his hands are by his waist. the ref made bad calls and didnt do things properly through the whole match, example: at the start where the ref broke the fighters up he should of had them go back into the same position before resuming the match. there was a point in the match where lesnar knocked mir to the floor and then jumped on him and pounded him, classic TKO, only the ref didnt think so.
