I'd be worried that the bird would get spooked and fly to the tippy top of the highest tree and you'd lose it. You can free flight them in your living room. Mine are out the entire time I'm home and they're free to fly everywhere./
omg im so sorry it flew away, thats why you should never free flight any bird in the city, notice all these profesional freeflights are done in the middle of nowhere. and yes you can freeflight a lovebird even a parakeet

I hope you still have your love bird because I have raised them and flew similar to that. I have learned that with lovebirds, after 4 flights outdoors, you'll be luck to find your bird again. They'll fly away eventually.
