My vanilla OS doesn't have drag and drop nor a proper screenshot functionality. I haven't even received the push for updating to ICS when it's been out for months already.

What I fear is that device manufacturers will try to ruin the user experience for the sake of differentiation. I used to like the eye candy HTC Sense gave me but now it feels annoying as it gets in the way of using the phone in a more productive manner.

@zpithika Legacy apps use the menu button still, on ice cream sandwhich and honeycomb a new button comes up for legacy apps. Keeping it there is needed if you are having buttons on any phone which runs ICS.

@gorothegreat12 it's possible for it to run on it yes (the sII is WAAAAAY more powerful then the nexus s). But I think you mean is there a version of it out for the SII in short no but it will be coming out for it (google said any phone that was sold with gingerbread (so the nexus s and after) will be getting it. Samsung may want to put their own spin on it, like they did with honeycomb, so you may have to wait for that or try and rely on roms from XDA (it's always a rush to see who is first)

You need to root your phone - use superoneclick - do a search.

Then backup all of your data - you can use Titanium Backup Pro (after you root)

Install Rom Manager - use this to download and install the new ROM.

Do a system reset and enjoy.

There are lots of how to's out there! I rooted my original Droid and installed the Cyanogen Mod 7 my god, it is 10 times better!
