Peace can be an elusive and a relative idea depending upon ones background.
But, when each one of us makes a personal effort at his or her own level for ones own growth (not for some great outside cause) as non-violence in thought, word and deed towards all living entities, peace will indeed be ours in our own times.
Wars are supposedly not in our control so we demand from our governments to stop them and go home, unaware of our own contributions towards causing them.
What is lacking in the World March for Peace is some focus on personal responsibility for causing violence around us.
If we connected peace with personal responsibility,
how can we not know that the pain we cause (by our life styles and choices)
is going to have repercussions of misery in the future.
Non-violence according to Gandhis Hindu ethos (and in a complete contrast to Abrahamic ethos) is more than physical non-injury. It requires a continuous personal effort of non-violence in thought, word and deed towards all living entities not only humans but even animals and plants. That is a whole different level of non-violence beyond abuse and wars.
World March for Peace seems to be a very nice idea and effort in todays times.
But, rather than demanding from others to Give peace a chance,
if in Gandhi's words - Be the change, you wish to see in the world each one of us just took responsibility for him/her self, peace will be a natural outcome.
