@MakeItFunkyProds Cool its sooo weird because a lot of my buddy are still useing it im useing Cakewalk Sonar 7 I found the Intrument Deffinitions for all my keyboards including the Motif Rack ES that 1 was hard to find but now i can chose the sounds i want in cakewalk
I had a Motif ES6 and it ticked me off compared to the RM1X because I couldn't switch instruments on the fly. After I restarted my track it would go back to the first assigned instrument. grrr There was a way to get around it, but took too long for me. I like to keep it on the fly. ;)
i´ve the motif rack , but i have some problems , when i go to the usb midi driver in my computer , i just can see " device name: device 0 " . and i can´t play the motif on the fl studio. i think connection is ok but i don´t know how to setup right.
im tryna buy a motif rack i dont got an interface or nothin all i got is an axiom 61 usin a usb plug to the pc and flstudio 8 how do i connect the motif rack to the pc? do i need an interface?
In order for FL Studio to play parts back on the motif, you will need a midi connection from your pc to the motif. So yes, you will need some kind of midi interface for that.
Motif ES rack has an USB port you can use as a midi in/out port. Axiom61 also has USB port to use as midi. Just make sure you have both m-audio and yamaha drivers so your computer can recognize their usb port as midi IN/OUT.
Good lookin out fam just wondering though, i know that u dont sequence on yor mpc but wondering if you could help me. i have motif xs rack and im trying to sequence on my mpc2500, i set up my multi midi channels correctly as far as i know but everytime i try to change a recieved track the midi controller refuses to communicate, jus wonderin if u could help if u understand what im trying to say, i hope u do, peace.
Hi! I think I'll buy this synth tomorow. But I wanna be sure. I've got a Roland E-16 (shitty old keyboard), even though it's crap, it's got midi OUT and IN, and I've used this like a midi controller with my soundcard (Focusrite Saffire Pro 40), and it works with most softwares. But would it work if I just hook the Motif Rack with my E-16 with a midi cable? Or do I need some kind of midi interface thing? Peace
hi, i have a question i want to use the motif with my mpc 1000 but i dont have an interface? on the motif rack to get the sound to come out of the motif is there like an aux out on the back cuz i was hoping to be able to run it tru my dj mixer which is connected to an 1000 wat amp system. will this work? thank you for your time.
Yes, you can use it with your mpc1000 without a midi interface. The motif rack has audio outputs on the back. Connect that to your 1000 watt amp system and you will be able to hear the sounds. Connect the mpc1000 midi out to the motif rack midi in and you'll be all good.
I did have a question about setting up a multi with PLG expansion cards. Im not sure exactly how I can access the sounds from my expansion cards in multi-mode. When in multi-mode, I sort my category by drums (Im using PLG150-PC Percussion) but cant find PLG1 in the list to choose voices from. Any ideas?
NM man... I figured it out :) You gotta keep hitting the > until you get past the 16th channel and then youll see the two PLG buses available in a new window. PLG1 is assigned to channel 1 out and PLG2 is assigned to channel 2 out, so if you dont want to hear the default sound assigned to channel 1 in a multi, youll need to turn down the volume on channel 1 and turn up the volume in the PLG channel... otherwise youll be hearing both parts on channel 1!
great i watch this every day, very informative and cool, part one and 2,and great bass chops, this is the video, that got me into midi.thank you brother vince
hello brother vince, great job. your approach, demeanor is all in the pocket, this has helped me totally, for many years i hadnt grasped this simple midi thing. now i got it,i watch this and part 2 over and over, plus your setup is cool and powerfully simple.keep up the good work, and oh the bass chops are tight as well blessing and more to you
but its hard these days 2 find a good tutorial cause it looks like everybody who just bought new gear/especially MPCusers feels like he must make a tutorial, talk
for 5min push 2buttons &think they got skillz
after 25years of making electronic music &150record releases im not really impressed by that or really learn what that type of gear can do 4 me in my studio(thats not your fault)
I am sure my little tutorial did not help anybody who already knows how to use a Motif rack, so it really wasn't meant for you guys. The thing is dead easy for me to use. I figured it out everything I needed on it in a few hours so I was really surprised when I got so many emails asking for help.
I was just trying to be a nice guy and did what little I could to help those who were struggling. Thanks for your comments.
I only made this video because many people kept asking for it. They saw my other video where I had just purchased it and I was making music with it the first day. A few days after that, I sequenced a song with it. My inbox was filling up with people saying they bought it after watching my first video but didn't understand how to use it with a sequencer.
I don't know about all that other stuff you were complaining about, but that's why I made this video. PEACE!!!
Is that the old version of Cakewalk

@KMNKeyboardVault As you see this video was made years ago. I don't use Cakewalk or the Motif anymore. I use FL Studio now and love it.

Yes, you can hook your E-16 to the motif es rack with a midi cable and it will work fine. You don't need a midi interface for that.

OK your explanation is totally clear 5 for that...its nothing personal
but why does every rap/r&b 'Artist' thinks he must make a(often crappy)tutorial?...
(like there isnt enough of that on tube)
is it the 15 minutes of 'fame'?
i learned nothing i didn't knew already
try making music with it 4 a chance
thats why you bought the damn thing 4
in the 1st place,right?
